Backpacked last weekend in the Catskills. The Blackheads have long been on my to-do list, and I finally got there. The weather was incredible after days of torrential rain. Many of the local creeks were still very high, and during shuttle we passed a park that was flooded. Clear and sunny, with some wind. The trails were nice, with other people hiking, but not crowded. We did a 14 mile semi-loop up Windham High Peak, to Acra Point, and back via the Blackheads. Great views along the way. The Blackheads are rugged, but not near as tough as the Devils Path, or even Wittenburg-Cornell-Slide. The Blackheads are the 3,4, and 5 highest peaks in the Catskills.

We tried to camp at Batavia Kill Shelter, but it was essentially flooded with a creek running under it, so we found a site off trail. Camping isn't that great along the trail, with few spots to camp.

Overall, a very nice trail. Had a great time.
