Aside from the Daks, the Monroe Skyline in Vermont, In New Hampshire, an AT section to Moosilauke, Kinsman Ridge, Franconia Ridge, the Presidentials or the Carters (perhaps two of these adjoining spots). Also, a loop to include the Bonds/or a loop through the Bonds, a section of the AT to include Moosilauke.

In Maine, Baxter State Park is great - permits and/or reservations may be required though.”

I have been to ground zero a few times - once in October 2001, there was a steady stream of people - almost like being at a wake. Everyone felt this sorrowful connection - as we quietly came to view what we had lost. Manhattan was sad an eerie at that time. It's a construction site now - still worth visiting if you've never been there. You can actually get good hotel deals around ground zero - especially on weekends. Rooms facing ground zero from across the street are cheaper than ones that don't - mostly because of the construction noise.”
