Mt. Evans
Our family just finished a tour of Colorado. Our first stop was Mount Evans. I was not expecting much, for some reason I thought it would be pretty commercial. It was, of course, slammed but it turned out to be a beautiful destination.

The short I took ( http://www.vimeo.com/27610206 ) features a large goat herd and a handful a scraggly bighorn. I did not know this at the time but that appears to be the state of things. According to some the goats are displacing the sheep.[img]

It ain't Pikes Peak. I always liked Mt. Evans better. It's a nice hike in the winter when the road is closed.

We did not make it to the Chicago Lakes, we were acclimating and did very little hiking that day. A few among us were a bit light headed.

Chicago Lakes/Mt Evans today. The hike was great it seems most people drive, only saw 1 hiker. Said she does it every day.
Top was kind of like Mt Washington in NH, crowded, without the gift shop.

What's with this "Chicago Lakes" stuff? I only know Lake Michigan and Calumet Lake.
