Mt Elbert and Massive
Jeff after talking to you the other day about this trip, I've decided to try my best to make it. The 2007 trip that RoamAround put together was a blast. Unfortunately, even though I've made several Colorado trips since then, haven't been with anyone of the crew since.
I hope you draw some interest in this trip.

Hey John. Saw the Cheaha family pics. Y'all look great. I think Jeff is in Birmingham. He moved to CO for a while but came back for work. You two should certainly hook up.
Jeff, myself and another friend are two are planning some Pinhoti Trail from Cheaha north about 3 days worth as Colorado training. Ya interested?

Probably, when are you going? Toph and I keep trying to get a Sipsey trip or two setup. We've been the past 3 Dec's in a row the weekend after the SECCG. I'm out this year, but hope to get another trip or two in over there this winter.

oldog,
for the most part it will be! I remember one time in April We climbed Elbert and about the 13000ft range we had to take snowshoes off and replace with crampons. It basically comes down to how much snow is still left in April when we get there. I know we will be needing them for most of the hike tho... I hope that helps.

I have never been on Elbert in the Summer to see the rocks. Everytime I have made the summit, it has been covered with snow...lol...I am shooting for another trip to Colorado in August or September also, so maybe I can get up there without all that snow!

thanks for the link. That just makes me want to go out there more now! The only summit that I have made without snow is Holy Cross. It was a great hike and would love to do that one again! Are you still living in Indiana crash bang?
