And according to the ghetto people, the hipsters made the decisions for everyone else despite only being 15% of the movement. So I guess they’ve hit feudalism on their grand recapitulation of the arc of history. Hopefully they can speed up and re-invent the toilet by, say, Monday. There’s so much good in this video that it’s hard to know what to highlight. The Iwo Jima-as-Porta-Potty monument is genius. The park ghetto man who notices that the elites come to the downtrodden when dirty work needs doing is priceless. He is the rough man who stands ready to do violence on behalf of the trust fund hippie sipping espresso in Zuccotti’s uptown, or something. The man at the end who wants to abolish private property but keep everyone else’s grubby paws off his personal property — his iPad — is so good I watched it twice. It looks like the occupiers have lost Jon Stewart. She touched on the genesis of the Occupy movement, which she said was particularly a result of the financial crisis, which “exposed those in charge of the economy as illegitimate.” “The people who were sitting on top of the world, the top-tenth of the top 1 percent, were guilty. They were guilty of thievery, of chicanery,” Piven said.” 9:26:55 AM 3/09/12 “uh oh, not trouble! Anything but that!!!” 9:31:26 AM 3/09/12 “Trouble after attacking the biggest voter class-Women? Big Governemnt is always going to be wasteful, inefficient and will breed corruption to feed itself. Socialism would be great, if it wasn't run by humans. They have contempt for normal people like you and me and despise the notion that you don't live "their" way. To them, the ends justify any means. A GREAT READ!!!!! A very interesting column.. COMPLETELY NEUTRAL Be sure to Read the Poem at the end. Charley Reese's final column for the Orlando Sentinel... He has been a journalist for 49 years. He is retiring and this is HIS LAST COLUMN. Be sure to read the Tax List at the end. This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering! 545 vs. 300,000,000 People -By Charlie Reese Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank. I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to. It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ... If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do. Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees... We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess! Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper. What you do with this article now that you have read it... is up to you. This might be funny if it weren't so true. Be sure to read all the way to the end: Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table, At which he's fed. Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule. Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway! Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries Tax his tears. Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his a**. Tax all he has Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till He's good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he's laid... Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...' The above post is a classic example of a sheeple being lead by the nose. "If we are serious about shrinking the size and scope of the federal government, corporate welfare would be a great place to start. OWS Democrats don't want to shrink the federal government and Tea Party Republicans want to shrink it at the expense of the poorest citizens." Now THIS is one of the most prolific posts I've read here in weeks. +1 1camper.” 4:34:15 AM 4/25/12 “...Tea Party Republicans want to shrink it at the expense of the poorest citizens." Is that the official party platform---something that I can read somewhere?” 5:39:15 AM 4/25/12 “dOOd, The same consumers who pay the taxes you list also pay for BIGBIZ's lobbyist cost, NRA donations, ALEC donations, Super PAC donations, Chamber of Commerce donations and all the other unnamed taxes that buy out the gov't from underneath the consumer.” 6:59:13 AM 4/25/12 “"Is that the official party platform---something that I can read somewhere?” Read the bills that ALEC writes for them to put before Congress, it's all there in black and write, but hidden behind the red.” 8:40:54 AM 4/25/12 “Read this Nonconformist: In a bill released Monday, Republicans proposed cutting $832 million –or 12 percent –from this year's budget for the federal nutrition program that provides food for low-income mothers and children. The 2012 budget proposal for food and farm programs also includes a decrease of almost $457 million, or 31 percent, from an international food assistance program that provides emergency aid and agricultural development dollars to poor countries. The legislation would provide $71 billion for food stamps, $2 billion less than the Obama administration projected would be necessary for next year. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2011/05/23/house-gop-proposes-budget_n_865915.html While at the same time saying they will not tolerate any defense budget cuts. http://m.cbsnews.com/storysynopsis.rbml?pageType=politics&catid=20120125&feed_id=3&videofeed=39 Their single recommendation to the "super committe" on budget cutting. No defense cuts. So no where in that massive, nation building, world policing budget is there a nickel we could save. Ridiculous. No of us are that stupid.” 6:06:00 PM 4/25/12 “Social Darwinism was heavily advocated by the Liberals (which are the equivalent of today's Republican "conservatives") in the late 1880s (the Gilded Age). It's very surprising that some in this country continue to promote this failed social concept; but just like trickle down economics, some refuse to give up failed concepts.” 6:24:40 PM 4/25/12 “These excerpt are from your Huff-Po article, 1camper. Why should I believe them to be untrue? Republicans who wrote the bill said the cuts in domestic food programs are taken from excess dollars in those accounts, and participants won't see a decrease in services. Domestic nutrition programs are mined for dollars in tight budget times because they often have extra money sitting in their accounts. Money is allocated for the programs based on projections of need and food costs, and those needs are sometimes overestimated. Georgia Rep. Jack Kingston, the Republican chairman of the House Appropriations agriculture subcommittee, said the cuts would "root out waste and duplication." "Where they have strayed from their core mission, we rein in agencies so they may better focus on the responsibilities for which they are intended," Kingston said.” 5:42:39 AM 4/26/12 “Also, didn't Leon Panetta (D) also warn about making defense cuts---in between his many tax payer-funded trips to and from his home? He's not a "Tea Party Republican." So nowhere in that massive, self-promoting, world policing, bullshiit-program du jour-to-line-their-pockets budget is there a nickel we could save? Ridiculous. None of us are that stupid.” 5:56:19 AM 4/26/12 “Legalize it to make room in jails for the billionaire MIC Neo-Cons.” 8:44:22 AM 4/26/12 “"Why should I believe them to be untrue" I dunno, perhaps the statement that justified the cuts came from the people who want the cuts? They are the ones promoting Social Darwinism after all. There is waste in every budget. However, in this time when a lot of people that use those programs are just barely keeping afloat, I think for now they should minimize the cuts as much as possible and go after corporate welfare, were a good deal of savings may be realized. Why is it that we hear about cutting waste but it always seems to be from the "fact cat" poor instead of the "fat cat corporations", some of whom have been taking government money when they've been realizing record profits? The popular "Welfare Queen" stereotype promoted my Reagan is embraced by Republicans looking for budget savings but they seem to never look toward corporate welfare reciptents. In fact, they'll piss their pants over how "un-American" is to cut corporate welfare, so by that logic I guess to them it's "very American" to cut off low income folks because that 19,000- they make is just too much for a "hand out".” 9:23:41 AM 4/26/12 “Why should I believe them to be untrue? ***************************************** I dunno, perhaps the statement that justified the cuts came from the people who want the cuts? So....that holds less weight than the people who don't want the cuts? 10:10:26 AM 4/26/12 “"So....that holds less weight than the people who don't want the cuts?" If you want to talk about logic, yes -- of course it holds less weight because it's a biased statement that fits what they want to have happen. They are offering opinion as fact; no where did they present numbers or any other information to support their claim. And if they ever do present numbers or factual support those facts should be vetted to make sure there is no biased interpretation of the data presented. So at this point, the people who will be affected/against it do have the upper hand in the argument. Politicians commonly use fallacies to support their arguments because fallacies are poorly rooted reasoning and appear solid using "common sense", and "common sense" is a BS concept because it doesn't exist.” 10:41:18 AM 4/26/12 “Further, using the statement from Jack Kingston, where is the evidence that these cuts will do what he claims they will do. What will happen if they don't? How will these cuts affect those who are not abusing the system? Example, just recently in Detroit the State cut off the Health and Human Services funding because the department did in fact waste money. However, when they cut the funding folks who are relying on that assistance are getting screwed because they can't get money to help out with child care while they are at work earning a poverty wage. So, if they can't get assistance, they can't work. This example screws those who use assistance for what it's intended. And they didn't cause the situation.” 10:45:21 AM 4/26/12 “I didn't see either side use anything other than opinion. In fact this... Domestic nutrition programs are mined for dollars in tight budget times because they often have extra money sitting in their accounts. Money is allocated for the programs based on projections of need and food costs, and those needs are sometimes overestimated. ...came from Huff-Po, if I read it correctly. Certainly not an unbiased source. Politicians commonly use fallacies to support their arguments because fallacies are poorly rooted reasoning and appear solid using "common sense", and "common sense" is a BS concept because it doesn't exist. +1 Everything could stand a cut. Too much beauracracy and too much waste and too much politician/corporation pocket lining. Only solution as I see it is to put me in charge of oversight. (It'd work up until someone in the shadows put a bullet in my head.)” 10:52:26 AM 4/26/12 “Sounds to me like it's as much a poorly run program as it is a funding "shortage." I've never been a fan of (continually) throwing more money into something because we don't want to take the time or risk to fix it.” 10:55:54 AM 4/26/12 “Later, yo.” 10:56:36 AM 4/26/12 “"..came from Huff-Po, if I read it correctly. Certainly not an unbiased source." Huff-Po is a pretty biased "information" source. Not on the "World Net Daily" level but your bull#&%!$ detector still should be set to "high". Yes, in most cases at the Federal level there are things that could be cut. I can see why "Money is allocated for the programs based on projections of need and food costs, and those needs are sometimes overestimated" statement somewhat because it's a assistance program that is geared toward a fluctuating base; just like no one can accurately predict the weather on a daily basis, it's just as hard to predict population size year to year. "Only solution as I see it is to put me in charge of oversight. (It'd work up until someone in the shadows put a bullet in my head.)" lol. Sad, but true. I think you could have a better social affect if they appointed you "Beer Czar". I'd go along with it only on the one condition that you do not promote that damn Budweiser Clammato stuff. BLEH!” 11:05:10 AM 4/26/12
