WTB: Jansport Carson NOT blue
I've come to the mother of all backpacking sites to plea for a Jansport Carson-challenge is that it cannot be blue. She that rules my checkbook has a blue one and I can't stand the thought of looking like tweedle dee and do while going down the trail.
So if someone has a decent Carson in green or black please let me know. Our next hike is in Red River Gorge Ky in 2.5 weeks. Will gladly pay via paypal.
If this is an inappropriate use of this forum I apologize but surely there is a Carson gathering dust somewhere.
Thanks!

I feel your pain.
In 1980 I decided to get back into backpacking - well, into backpacking because up to then it was canoe-camping or winter camping. I had moved to the southwest of Quebec to teach and was discovering my new back yard - the Adirondacks.

During a family week-end with my 10 month-old son in Lake Placid I bought a kick-butt Karrimor internal frame, 40 litre pack.

Internal frames were still relatively new then and this one was Euro (okay Brit) cool. It was and is dark purple. This was so revolutionary at the time that people would literally stop on the trail, open mouthed, to watch me hike by. Everything else was Campmor or army surplus green.

I decided to ignore them all and that is still my policy.

When the Adirondack Park decreed the use of bear canisters I needed a larger pack. I got a 75l MEC pack and it is blue.

As long as no-one throws rocks at me, I just wander along merrily through life, eh?

bleach it! HA!
Nice and white huh, then might be mistaken for my Mithril!
Was just in the Adirondacks this fall, got stuck in Vermont on the AT (luckily at Inn at the Long Trail) for 5 days due to Hurriane Irene-escaped and headed to the Adirondacks to explore-spectacular! and will return.
