Catskill 3500
I was looking at old threads and noticed a bunch of Catskill Trips. I believe ENS Crazy Pace and Pennsy completed all 39, but I was wondering if anyone else was trying to tackle them...

Gem and I are going to try to do the 35's.

My plan is to do Slide on Dec 17th, followed by a possible night hike of Westkill on the 20th..

Jan 6 and 7.. I am hoping to get the Winter Hikes of Slide Panther and Blackhead out of the way, leaving just Balsam to do before March...

May 12 we are signed up to do a marathon hike/bushwhack of Peekamoose, Table, Lone, Rocky, Balsam Cap, Friday, Cornell and Wittenberg.

Is anyone else doing the 35's.. There are some decent meetup groups out there, but I was curious as if any of you were doing any Catskills peak bagging...

32oz the thing for winter in the catskills is that the parking areas may or may not be ploughed. There are restrictions on parking other than in lots because the back roads are narrow and the ploughs have to be able to get through.

Good idea to have a couple of snow shovels to get in/out of a parking area.

Tents are warmer than lean to's. Some lean to's get filled with drifting snow, always plan on needing a tent.
Water is much closer with some lean to's than others.
Some areas the snow is nice and clean, others loaded with spruce needles, leaves and crap.

Biggest planning glitch is that there are few loop trails, so 2 vehicles or hike back the way you came.
