“My wife gave me a kindle for Christmas so now I am looking for some good hiking or mountaineering books to load on to it. So far I am thinking of getting "Barefoot Sisters: Southbound" and "Skywalker: Close Encounters on the Appalachian Trail". Need more suggestions.”

A Walk Across America is pretty good. I live near Robbinsville, the only town in his huge journey and book that throws him out of town, hehe.

“An old newspaper is probably less expensive and just as good for starting a campfire as book pages. It is a real pain waiting for someone to finish reading a page so that I can use it for starting the fire, expecially if I am waiting to cook over the fire.
