“The picnic tables were culture shock when I moved out here - vestiges of the pre-wilderness act days when there were lots of lookout towers, roads, ranger stations and civilized campsites in the backcountry. They are nice when you can find them.”

“Heading out to Hetch Hetchy this week-end. We had to abort the 'snow backpacking' trip due to severe lack of snow.

Forecast highs of 50's and lows in 20's. Don't get me wrong because I'm liking this a lot but where the heck in California's winter or even wet season?
