Tom Brady's mental error on his first possession was one of the game changing moments (Giants would need a touchdown to win on their last possession). He could have easily gotten outside the box before chucking the ball.”

“I thought about that. I actually had a bad feeling about the game this time. I didn't see the toughness in the Pats this year. I thought they'd win it 4 years ago, but I thought the giants would win it this time.

I think you can, especially when the other team has already had the ball once. Pats had made a nice stop on the Giants first possession - with two sacks. After the Pats got the ball, Brady chucked the ball to open space leading to a touchback and giving the Giants the ball back. The Giants settled down nicely, while the Pats struggled to get themselves together. The end of the game was played out quite differently because the two point touchback meant the Giants only needed a field goal to the the lead when they had the ball.”

“sports is a great example of the butterfly effect...not getting the touch back would have certainly changed the score, but how do we know it would have been in the pats favor?...they were deep in their own red zone and making tons of mental errors...a fumble, int, or penalties could have led to a giants score as well that would have been 3 or even 7 points instead of 2...it's just tough to put a game on one play, or even several, because what happens now changes what happens in the future...same thing with welkers(sp) drop late in the 4th...had he caught it, who knows what would have happened next”
