Okay...we need to hide all potentially negative comments on this thread and get a newbie to buy one and test it...(LOL)

Came across this site and thought it was dang cool. Expensive, but very cool stuff.

8 oz. for a full titanium alchy stove step up that is rock solid. Wish money was no object...

Clikstand T-2, Windscreen T-2 & Evernew Titanium Burner
Weight: 3.9 oz. (111 g)

You Save $13.90

$126.95

....and that's without the pot.

Pepsi. 50 cents

Of course, you need two, so let's say a buck.

I can do a heck of a lot with the other $125.95 and I would have a hard time believing that I could tell the difference in a Pepsi can stove and a "oh my gosh, titanium stove" in my pack carrying it. I also have a hard time believing the titanium would outperform the "cheap" version.

Yeah, I'd be more interested if you could seal up the burner or simmer like a Trangia. Wonder why they didn't bother making a simmer lid for it...

anyone remember when tincanstoveman came on the site offering free alcohol stoves to folks? I still have that one and use it occasionally.

Now I use the whitebox stove or the starlyte (old style) made by zelph

I have a white box stove. Don't really like it as much as my Trangia or even the original pepsi can stove. I've decided that the alchy stove sans base design, while a great concept which lends to weight savings, really isn't all that stable, especially if you're doing any real cooking that requires moving the pans around (eggs, fish, etc). For boiling water, I think it's OK.

I haven't cooked anything on the trail in several years that wasn't in a freezer bag.

All I need a stove to do is boil water.
