Uhoh, what do I do now....
I have in my room one of those wax melters that use scented wax. It's like a candle, but uses a light bulb instead. Anyway, I was changing the wax and it kind of spilled on my boots. Some is on the outside and I can kind of scrape it off the hard leather, but some got inside and on the soft leather of the tounge. How do you get wax out of fabric and leather? Also, the wax still has some of the oils in it, so dies that make my boots smellable now?

I've heard ice is good for removing bubble gum. Perhaps if you put your boot in the freezer or outdoors if its cold enough, the wax will stiffen enough for you to peel it off???

Take out a patent on scratch and sniff boots.

Try some of the biodegradable citrus based solvent/wax remover that is used on cross country skis. I'd try it on a small non-critical area first. Be ready to clean immediately with some sort of water based leather cleaner.

Remove the laces, lay the tongue out flat on an ironing board. Place a taper towel on the tongue, and use a WARM not hot iron to iron over the paper towel. the wax will melt and the paper towel will absorb the wax.

Try it, it may not remove all the wax but a substantial portion of it will be removed.

Super Troll has the right idea...that is how you remove wax from marking clothing for alterations..just make sure you do not put the iron directly on the leather...and use the lowest setting and for goodness sakes no steam! Good luck...

use a cigarette lighter and burn it off. oh yeah , make sure the boot is off of your foot first. Trust me it hurts!
