RE: pics
WindDragon, I hate to be the one to say it, but the pictures are too dark & do not show detail. I know part of the reason is because of it being overcast.

I think you cheated by staying in a lodge, but it is a nice way to go, especially on cold winter days. I enjoy doing that also. It's nice to be absolutely comfortable. The lodge views look nice.

WD. Thanks for sharing. I thought the pics of Hood with the narrow band of sun across if were very cool.
I know what a good view of Hood is worth this time of year!

RE: pics
yea, we used a cheap camera.. one of those disposable ones. But some of the pics turned out pretty good despite the poor equipment.

Cheated by staying in a lodge? Well that all depends on what the goal was. Sitting by a fireplace with no phones, radios, tv's, looking out our patio window at a prestine lake. Make wild, passionate love with my wife for hours each day... drinking homemade espresso stout.

Though we did do day hikes... this one hike in particular was kinda a waste. We drove the 2 hr drive down this narrow, pot-holey road to get the trailhead. But to hike the trail, we had to ford this river. Well, the river didn't want to be forded at that time of the year. Other than that, the hikes around the area were beautiful.

WindDragon, I didn't mean to be mean. I like your Hood Mountain pics too.

Making wild passionate love? Where exactly is this lodge? What's the name of it? I can't figure out what part of the Olympics you were in.

I was only kidding about cheating by going to a lodge. LG & I have had our tent in our car & at the last minute decide to rent out a place.

WD don't worry about the pics, Its the snow, it reads brighter than it is, with an expencer camera you need to drop the f-stop 1-1 1/2. Even bad pics are memories.

RE: pics
Its a nice area.. the lake itself is owned by the indian reservation and they don't allow motors on the lake.
