Becoming an Outdoors Woman
I just ran across a very well done site for an organization called Becoming an Outdoors Woman or BOW. It looks interesting and maybe some of us know someone we could tell. I had never heard of it before but ran across it on in the Yahoo Dutch Oven Club.

Anybody know anything about it?

RE: Becoming an Outdoors Woman
I became an outdoors woman by learning to tolerate weather conditions. That is always the worst part for me, trying to remain comfortable.

Yeah, I've heard of it Phil. At least in the Midwest, these trips, usually overnight or weekend campouts, are held once or twice a year. I've debated going so I could do an article on it. Diverse things such as outdoor cooking (as you alluded to), backpacking, hunting, fishing, orientation, photography... and lots more things. Sounds like a good program from what I've read.

RE: Becoming an Outdoors Woman
I took the "BOW" weekend last spring in northern Ontario
and can only say it is great. A women only retreat offering
instruction in hundreds of outdoor courses, a full weekend
with rooms and meals was about $250Cdn. I took firearms
safety;beginner rifle;map and compass;chain saw operation;fur grading. In the evening we had slide presentations from naturlists on ecology;deer; and outdoor gear. The food was great, the instruction first class and company also great.

I don?t get it. Why do you guys want to become outdoor women? Are you have a little trouble accepting you sexual identity?

RE: Becoming an Outdoors Woman
Our department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife offers BOW classes. Personally I wouldn't take any course for outdoors, business, etc. that are specifically for women because it's discrimination. IF&W's BOW classes accept men, but how many men want to become an outdoor woman?

nanabush - Thanks for the info. I got from the website that because of the founder's background, there is a strong ecological side to the organization.

mtn gal - I missed your reference as well.

mtn gal: every one of the guys here is interested in outdoor women! We want to know how to make them!

RE: Becoming an Outdoors Woman
Hay is for horses.

woman - singular, women - plural

"Taking a woman outdoor..." - whadafuh?

"experance" - whadafuh?

Capitalization is always a nice touch.

Sorry, trinity trekker....I'd do the same to Ice Tea.

I had a woman from a women's motorcycle riding club ask me if I wanted to go with them on a bike/camping trip. I thought it would have been nice, but it was out of state & too far to travel.

Ahhh, there is nothing finer than following an outdoors gal in shorts, up a steep trail!!! All outdoors gals should be issued daisy duke shorts.
Nothing is more becoming than an outdoors woman.

fly-wierdo-6x -
I hope that you do not walk in the woods behind me never. And did you say that you are becoming a outside woman?

I will never be a outside woman - jus a girl. I will always be jus a girl. Well, mebbe scientifics will be abel to make me a woman somedays, but I prolly will awreddy be ded before those days. I got 10 teats, but they are leetle and not big like womans teats. Know what? I know a woman with BIG teats but I can not say her name on the innernets cuz I will get yelled at and some peoples mite think I have dirt minds.

I can be a outside girl, tho. Know what? I stay outside all the day when my daddy go's off at the mornin. One time I looked in the coffeeroom door winda to see if rats was sneekin aroun in the hous and the door swinged open! I got to be a INSIDE girl the hole day when my daddy was gone off! That was a fun day! Me and Skinny Kenny layed on the sopa and cliner ALL DAY and sleeped and I went outside and peed and he peed in his doodoo box and we hunted rats and sleeped.

RE: Becoming an Outdoors Woman
tommy, these women bikers I saw looked "self-sufficient". I don't think you would find any dates among them if that's what you're looking for, and they don't accept men on the trips, it's all ladies :{}
