thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “I had an idea this morning and I thought I would through it out to see what every one thought. Has anyone ever mentioned a thebackpacker calendar of events / trip history. A page where we could post a calendar of upcoming events as well as a history of all the trips we have had with information on when, where, how long in days and miles, who sponsored the trip and who attended. So what da ya think Grunt” 10:29:40 AM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “ GREAT IDEA!!” 10:37:13 AM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “REALLY GOOD IDEA!!!!!!! I get confused as to dates an places for what's planned just in case I should ever actually escape an be able to make it I would know what was going on” 10:42:34 AM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Okay, I threw together a site for a calendar. Matt may decide to create one, but for now we can use this. Click here It is through MSN and I think you have to register, but it's free. Start adding your dates!” 12:10:41 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “i already have one. it's called my dayrunner.” 12:13:41 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Wow, a Kleetn link where you don't have to wince when you click da mouse! Will wonders never cease...” 12:58:19 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Unknowingly, I created a trip page also that is linked to the Photo page. However, I am more than happy to bow to kleetn's devices. There is nothing wrong with a little redundancy if it is handled right. No matter what we do, my advice is not post too many trip details on the web. I think things like trailheads, meeting times, car and gear descriptions, etc., should be handled via email between participants to avoid trolls and bizarre, unwanted visitors.” 1:21:49 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Phil, if you've got that going, then by all means let's use it. Yours will be permanently linked from TT, whereas mine is only through the post above. And you probably have a good idea about not posting too many details. But then again, most of us 'regulars' might be described as bizarre and unwanted!” 1:32:51 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Phil's looks good, I say we use it.” 2:21:13 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Cool. Good idea Grunt. Thanks to kleetn and once again thanks Phil.” 2:28:31 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Cool so they are right about that broke clock thing. But drat that is my one good thought for the year. Thanks Phil looks good now if we can get them to help with the data we can start to get a history. Thanks again Grunt” 2:54:09 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “You can actually do this on Yahoo - Mel has... check it out!” 5:29:20 PM 2/08/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “FYI - Posted the first request on the TRIP INFORMATION PAGE today. Go to the Photo Page and it is linked at the top-middle section. I also added a link on the trip page to kleetn's MSN calendar page. People can update that themselves. ENJOY!” 10:40:08 AM 2/26/01 RE: thebackpacker calendar of events / trip histo “Phil.....thank you so much for this page...... it is a huge help! you are divine” 6:59:29 PM 2/26/01
