By light of the silvery moon...

I love to hike by moonlight, especially with snow on the ground. It is like daylight here. I am planning on putting on the x-c skis and breaking some trail.

“I'll be takin' to the trail tomorrow night under a Winter Storm Warning. Snow level is supposed to be about 1000' and the trailhead is at 980'. Hopefully there will be some clearing and I can hike by the light of the moon.”

“Well, it got a bit overcast, giving the moon a sort of haze around it, a faintly-tinged reddish halo. Making tracks is hard work! I think I only went about a mile in before plunking down in the snow. LOL
Then, I just sat there for a bit and listened to the creek, slightly raging with recent snowmelt. >sigh<

“After a date with the Sunday Night Football Club night before last, I drove the last 3-1/2 miles home w/o headlights. Then, me and Belle played "gimme dat" into the wee hours. It was incredibly bright.

“Had a gorgeous late night run on the beach last night under the full moon. I had to bundle up because it was pretty cold, but this is still southern California so "cold" is a relative term. I can't complain -- if I did, I think many of you from the colder climes might track me down and kill me!

“I loved that bright night. I went out Monday night, Tuesday night, and Wendsday night. It was so great!

The air was in the 50's so you could push yourself without sweating too bad, and since the moon was so bright, almost all travel was across country and off trail.

OK, so we were doing patrolling training with the soldiers, but it was so fun, it wasn't like work.

“I was watching a thing on discovery last night that on night with a full moon crime rates go up. It is thought that the rezone is because like with the ocean water the tides are higher during a full moon that the moon has a pull on are 85% wateris (my own work) bodies.”
