Travel Journal - Lick Wash in Utah
Don't know if this will work or not since I am not a techie..so you will probably have to copy this url to see it:

http://content.communities.msn.com/isapi/fetch.dll?action=view_list&ID_Community=WINDOWTOTHEWEST&list=1

If it doesn't work, I'll need someone's help on posting hyperlinks.

Ummmm... I'll do my best to explain it. It is actualy quite simple. You use a HTML tag called the "A", or anchor tag. Write:

<A   href="http://webaddresshere.com"> Text To Display </a>

It well display the following:
Text to Display

All you have to do is replace "http://webaddresshere.com" with the web address of your stuff, and then "Text to display" with what ever you want to display to click on.

Nice stuff, Utahiker! As you know, I almost hiked up in there on a trip. Alas, I was by myself and there was one pickup with topper parked there and I could tell it was a male hiker from the looks of stuff. (Yes, I peaked in...bad girl!)

Since this place is pretty remote, I decided just in case it was one of those Colorado fugitives on the run or something equally bad, not to hike it. Plus skies were getting cloudly and if it rained, I woulda been stuck there on those clay roads. (Heck, it's a "wash" and it runs right across the road, sans bridge. So I sadly left. Someday...............

I can't believe that with the underwear and jello threads and the other shenanigans going on around here, you would actually post a thread using the phrase "Lick Wash."

Oh, the images that come to mind!!!!!

Great report there. Have you got more pictures to share. We're thinking about going to Utah next year. I'm going to start researching places soon. How many miles was your trip. We're looking to be out for at least 3 or 4 days.

Dude, Here are a few links on Utah. Remember the northern mountains by Salt Lake are great also.

I'm kinda a moutain person. I dig the Pines and Streams so I don't go down to the south much. Have been through Zion Narrows, Grand Canyon rim to rim and back to rim. Liz, Hobitt and Reptiles are the ones to ask about Southern Utah, but my opinion for a 3 day car trip would be the Goblin Valley Canyonlands, Arches, Monument Valley drive.

Kolob Canyon, Zion, Paria/Coyote Gulch would also be a great 3 dayer.

If your going to fly into Salt Lake and spend one day, there are some great mountains just 20 mins. away. Perfect for a day hike.

The High Uintas would be great for a easy hikin weekend trip.

It all depends on what you want to see. Red Rock or High Alpine beauty! Either way you can't go wrong.

Thanks Griz. I'll put those places in the hat too. As it gets closer, I'll start a thread wanting more detail. I got a year to be planning it.

RE: Travel Journal - Lick Wash in Utah
Thanks for the beautiful pics. The thing I loved about Utah were the diverse rock formations, colors and oh..that sage.....

Griz...i also prefer the mountains and that is why i chose going to the high uintas... but, I found that I also got a small taste of the red rock experience in flaming gorge area, nine mile canyon , sheep creek canyon, red fleet... all around the unitas....

you utah folks have some great state there.....
more pics utahhiker!!
thanks
