RE: Day Hikes in the Tetons
Jenny Lake is near Moose. It's just a few miles into the park if yer coming from Jackson. There's a visitors center there. From the VC, you can either take a ferry across or walk the (2?) miles around to Cascade Canyon. The trail passes Hidden Falls enroute to Inspiration Point overlook. Beyond the overlook, the trail begins it's gradual ascent through the canyon. The farther up the canyon ya go, the more spectacular the views become (and the crowds diminish). Eventually the trail splits, this'll prolly be where you turn back.

GORP link

The route I described is listed as #7. I did this route, plus, I continued up the right fork to Paintbrush Divide and over into Paintbrush Canyon and went back to Jenny via Leigh Lake. The GORP page mentions the same loop, but in reverse.

The GORP page is excellent. It has links to numerous maps of Teet dayhikes.

Have fun!
That place is beautiful...

Thanks a bunch gojo! One of my employees is planning a trip this fall. He is trying to get a head start on planning. I wish I could go! But this year I am going to settle for a trip to Europe. Never been. Got a free ticket. Ready to see Switzerland and Italy!!!

RE: Day Hikes in the Tetons
I was so desparate for backpacking that the dogs and I go through the creek in our neighbors back yards and sneak around the weeds just to feel like we are out in the wild...
