According to a current theory of in quantum mechanics, it would be possible to travel to "back in time." This theory states that time is just a series of events where the universe splits. So there are infinate univereses which are out of phase with our own. Since the universes just split, then you wouldn't be going back in time, just to that particular universe. If you happened to change something, then all that would happen is that universe would yet againg split and start off an a tangent, so you couldn't alter the current state of the universe.”
