Job opening in So. Cal. Nat'l Forest
As a Forest Service Volunteer I just got this email message from the Volunteer Coordinator:

Hi all, Here is a good job opening you or someone you know may be
interested in. The new San Bernardino National Forest Association (SBNFA) Executive Director is now Kris Assel who is a very nice person. That is her email address below.

The SBNFA could use your help in spreading the word about our Director
search for the Big Bear Discovery Center. Please share and network this
information with friends and associates who might be interested.

Director, Big Bear Discovery Center
Manage visitor and environmental education center with over 175,000
visitors/year operated jointly by a nonprofit and the Forest Service.
Undergoing $3.3 million expansion over next 3 years. Center provides
information services, eco-tours, lecture series, school programs, and a
retail operation. Seeking strong leader with experience in strategic
planning, supervising staff, fundraising, marketing, budget management, and project management.

Director will be an employee of the nonprofit San Bernardino National
Forest Association.

Sorry about the lousy cut and paste job, but you get the idea.

I visited the Discovery Center last year with my daughter and some friends. It is nice and appears very new. It is located on the North Shore of Big Bear Lake (elev. approx 6000 ft.). Big Bear is a mountain community with everything (fishing, boating, camping, skiing, shopping, restaurants, scenery, off-road, hiking, etc.).

Just passin' the info along...you never know who may be interested.
