A tread is the part of a stair you step on.

RE: New Tread
New tread on my shoes. Today is my daughters b-day so we are going for a milkshake and a hike in the park, she loves both. Kinda ragged after delivering mega-tons of flowers yesterday. Wife and I will spend a different day as our own valintines.

RE: New Tread
I could use more tread on my tires also... Lets see yesterday I worked, and then selpt and then worked.

I did get valenine candy though, I found it in the candy jar on the secritarys desk!! Oh, and then some women that I don't know knocked on the office door and told me to have a happy valenitines day. Other then that....

Anyways, today is my day off. I think I might head up to a little lake near my house. It is about a 5 mile hike and it's only a ten minute drive. Thats where I go alot of the time just to sit and think, or sleep, or do what ever it is that I feel like doing.

Then tomorrow I have that day off too and I don't know what I am doing in the morning, but later in the afternoon I am going to go get some coffee with them and hang out I guess. I am not the brains behind the operations so we well see how it turns out.

RE: New Tread
Watched an intense sunset alpine glow, turn the snow covering the White Mountains to soft violet.
Got a bunch of spring flowers from the husband, chased with a six-pack of Pacifico.
Got up this morning at seven to check the thermometer (seven below zero)and feed the wild birds, breakfast:
Sunflower and thistle seeds to my huge daily porch-herd of rosy finches, red-winged black birds, 14 quail, dark-eyed juncos, chicadees and sparrows.
Went in to work, built some picture frames, played with the dog and gossiped with my boss.
Came home at 2, shoveled snow off the woodpile and off my porch.
Repositioned the plastic flamigo's on the snow piles in front of the house, and now I'm here, drinking a beer, and thinking of you-all-honey.

Mel. Sounds like a good day to me. I'm jealous of all of the birds. I love Red Winged Blackbirds. One of my favorites. Quail are fun too.

RE: New Tread
When I opened this thread, I half-expected something along the lines of a revelutionary new boot tread coming out. You know, the one that doesn't do any trail damage and virtually propels you on those steep uphill sections.

Then I thought....awwww, my old treads will do just fine.

LOL @ ski!

Now THAT's denial for you. If they had come out with a revelutionary new tread you'd jump right on it. Well, you *might* wait for the first sale. ;o)

I believe it is time for a new kinda Thread, is it just me or do you all sound kinda dead. I can't tell if your slow or it is night, talk about any subject, what ever ya like. I will sit and list to what ever you say, I have nothing to do on the upcoming day. If it is nice I may go for a hike, if the day dawns wet I will go to the coffee shop.

RE: New Tread
I have to be up in five hours, I haven't written my speech that is due tommarrow, or done my collage for another class. I pulled every muscle in my back doing dynos today showing off for the guys. But it is a beautiful day because I'm going biking tommarrow, the sky will be blue, the trails are calling, and it is time to go out and play. My boss can go screw himself I'm calling in sick, perhaps it's the weather, the warm has me thinking of spring. Summer is soon to come, and with it the freedom to get off of the east coast.

five more months.

RE: New Tread
You should be able add lib your speech. Try one on the importance of class preparation. Or better yet take in a page full of TT jokes.

RE: New Tread
An ok day turns into a very nice day.

I haven't done anything for Valentine's Day in a couple years. Today wasn't going to be much different. I had classes and meetings almost all day today. This evening I really got into a funk, don't know why, I just did. I called up one of the women I work with and asked her if she wanted to go to the grocery store to buy some grapes, and to be my valentine for the last 20 minutes of the day - and that I just needed someone to talk to. She agreed, so we drove to the grocery story, talked about lots of things and had a good time. I bought some grapes and tea, and just before we reached the check-out line I grabbed a small potted flower. I paid for everything and gave the flower to my valentine. We then proceeded to play shopping cart basketball in the parking lot and laughed a whole lot. We drove back, and sat in a lounge of our hall for another 1/2 hour-45 minutes talking and eating grapes before we went our separate ways.

No, I didn't have a big V. Day, but I did get to spend some really nice time with one of my coworkers/best friends. She made all the difference tonight. Just had to share. G'night.

I bought a rose for my wife and daughter and brought them a latte & hot chocolate and took the rest of the day off and spent it with them.

It was a great day!

Lobo - rainy days are excellent days for hiking.

Oldie, sounds real nice. Not everything has to be "in keeping with all the hype." I'm glad you had her to call as I am sure she is too!
