Death Valley NP
Has anyone hiked Marble Canyon in Death Valley National Park? How about any other canyon or slot canyon hikes in the area? I'll be heading there this weekend and/or next weekend for the third time. Looking to visit the Racetrack and Ubehebe Crater also. Hopefully, we'll be backpacking Fall Canyon next weekend.

Any info on cool places to visit would be most helpful, THANKS!

RE: Death Valley NP
See if you can get into Saline Valley...
It's the next valley north of Death Valley proper.
The WONDERFULL hot springs are there.
There are also petroglyphs on the main road connecting Saline Valley and the Race Track...
that's the Steel Pass road.
The petroglyphs are about three miles north of the upper "Palm Springs".

West of the main road through Saline, and about a half mile south of the road to the springs, is a small, short dirt spur road in MacAvoy Canyon.
MacAvoy is a tiny brush filled slot canyon.
Climb up into it about 200 yards, and you come to the end.
The head of the canyon is a steep wall with a tiny, cold, year round waterfall trickling down. The wall is covered with ferns, moss and watercress.
The year round temps near the waterfall are about 60 degrees.
It's absolutely beautiful and totally out of place in that hot desert.
Take a look at the map and try to make the time to check out Darwin Falls. I hear the swimming there is pretty neat.

Pardon...
I often transpose directons.
The petroglyphs are EAST of the Palm Springs.
And the hot springs are clothing optional in a fantastic desert camping oasis.
Rustic, no park rangers, sand campsites, and laid back people.
