RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
A bit pissy aren't we? A good troll never takes his victim's reactions personal Mutt. By my count you are the only one who has resorted to cursing. Would that be a score for the TTers? Judges? Judges?

But, I'm not pissed, Mutt. I just think it's sad that fans of his cannot share their feelings in peace. It's also sad that there are people in this world who know how to gain attention only through negativity.

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
Since my services were summoned...

After hours of careful review, painstaking attention to detail, and much statistical number crunching I have the official score.
Unfortunately I must divide the score into "sub-scores" by category. This will allow for a more accurate assesment of points.
Here goes...
Nigal gets 5 points for carefully disecting Mutts post, with a bonus of 3 points for adding information regarding trolling habits, ettiquitte and rules. Well done.
LeSubtil gets 3 points for the posts that embodies the utmost grace and tact. He shows immense compassion for the family of an individual personally unknown to himself. Plus a 3 point bonus for his attempts to keep this thread as it was intented. Excellent.
Unfortunately Mutt didnt fair so well. He gets one point for showing up at TT again after Bacpac crippled him on the Ashcroft thread ( please see thread to verify). However for his poor arguments, resorting to personal attacks (calling LeSubtil a "cheesy bastard" and berating Nigal for the time Nigal spent dissecting Mutts prior post instead of focusing on fact) and generally sour outlook on life Mutt will lose 8 points. Dont worry Mutt during the bonus round it is possible to make up those lost points.

Official Tally after one round.
Nigal 8 points
LeSubtil 6 points
Mutt -7 points

Official scorekeeper, two minutes unsportsmanlike conduct, and a game misconduct. Some people here have been called a$$hole (and worse) for trivializing the death of this man. Now you come here making a game of this thread. Take it elsewhere.

flyguy6x -2 points for arguing with the OFFICIAL SCOREKEEPER!

I never play the game, I only keep score. I am like Switzerland, neutral.Swayed only by facts and data ( okay and occasionally beer). My judgement is clear like a mountain spring my motives pure like the driven snow.

Anyone who says anything bad about Mr. Earnhart loses 1000 points.

Can I get into this game!!! PLEASE oh Pretty please.

" +2 to lumpy for his tribute to his favorite band Queen and his teenage heart throb Freddie Mercury. " That one was too funny!!! LMAO!!!!

I would just like to say, I and millions like me will miss Dale. He will forever be in my heart and riding shotgun in ever morning commute.

Trolls will never identify themselves so it is worthless to guess. But this trolls wit and sauveness does ring a bell.

Racing has led to the development of many many innovations from which we passenger car drivers benefit every time we turn the key.

That scorekeeper dude sounds almost as smuckin' fart as Dr Laura.

And as for as that bit about morals being key to some religions, I think people hold moral values INSPITE of religion, mot because of it!
In many religions, especially those of the Judeo-Islamic-Christian persuasion, the basic beliefs are that "those not of our faith" are without any hope of salvation(from what?) and are inferior and less human and can therefore be mistreated without penalty from god.

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
Not a race fan but I know who drove #3. From what I've seen of Dale E. he looked like a good man. I have to agree with the others that say he was a better role model then a lot of NBA/NFL/NHL sports people.

At least he wasn't a known muderer, or drug dealer that as allowed to race!!!

It's always sad to lose the good ones.

R.I.P. Mr. E.

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
Tom T, if that is what you think is the doctrine of the Judeo-Islamic-Christian persuasion no wonder you reject it. I would to. But you are wrong. There are people that claim to be of the Judeo-Islamic-Christian persuasion that do act that way, but they are NOT living by the teachings. Love of other, all others, is at the base of the Judeo-Islamic-Christian persuasion. It is also very hard to live by. Try it. And you are right that some that do ?live it? are not associated with any religion. But now I would like to hear you or Mutt slam Mother Teresa. (I did it again, sucked in)

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
I take a crack at that!
Mother Teresa cared for the poor, it is true.
She also campaigned against birth comtrol or family planning in the midst of the wreckage(poverty) that is propagated by a lack of birth control and family planning claiming that the aforementioned is against god's will.

Those religious groups also have, and some still do, allow slavery and the subjugation of women and children.

I will say that many people of a religious persuasion are good and true to the "good" parts of their faith.
Those people are not a problem to society but are, in a way, PART of the problem.

I stated in the other "E" thread that I am wholly sympathetic to the fans of Mr E.
Though I have been known to poke fun at redneck racing, I know that those drivers are tough legitimate sports competitors.

I saw a display of some kind in the grocery store last night that featured Mr E and noticed that his wedding band was visible.
Well, I got a little teary.....Daddy's gone.

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
Living to help others is "part of the problem"? Love of the to be born is a bad thing? Mtn gal talked about loving all not just selected groups. Mother Teresa did not cause the poverty.

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
There are mnany good people who admired the D.E., and lots of reasons to admire him.

Its too bad this thread got so deteriorated. Nobody is trashing other threads by talking about this untimely death... or criticizing other people for not "getting" it.

Its a shame.

Dale E. touched a lot of lives, and by every account was a good man. There's plenty to be sad about when someone like that dies.

RE: THE PASSING OF A HERO
WOW! its pretty funny when folks gotta fight about something as SUBJECTIVE as a personal hero. Some would find Mr Earnhart to be a hero and others not.

Though there are those who thrive on debate (myself included at times). This just seems to be shameful. Allow those who admire the man to mourn.

LOL Lumpy!

I'm not a fan of racing but I'm very sorry the man died. One thing I thought about was he probably went out the way he would have chosen to. Think about it guys, haven't most of us at one time or another made the statement that we would like to go out while out on the trail? He went out doing what he loved best. Best journey to you #3.
