North Face packs
Does anyone own a North Face pack? I'm thinking of getting a Perseverance and was wondering if anyone has had experience with their packs.

RE: North Face packs
I own an "episode" made by tnf. Its a 2400 cui pack I use for ultralight trips. Its consrtuction seems good. I chose this pack because of its taller narrower profile . I really like Lowe Alpine for an extended trip. They are fairly inexpensive and are built very well. They also have a ton of external pockets. They have a new "ABS"suspension ystem that is pretty slick.

RE: North Face packs
I've been using a TNF Appalacian (3800 ci) for weekends to extended weekends for the last 4 years and it's been a big improvement over my old external Jansport Yosemite. The pack is no longer being made and I'm not sure of what pack may be similar. My only beef is that there needs to be greater reinforcement at the bottom of the aluminmum frames to keep them from breaking through.

I've been using an Exocet for lightweight backpacking weekenders in the summer. It's pretty sweet but bare bones. No frame or stays, just a foam back, straps (shoulder and sternum) and a 2-inch wide, minimalist hipbelt. The straps are very comfortable. It's 2100 ci and I added a 500ci side pocket. It carrys the weight really well and so far, I am impressed with the construction.

I've owned a TNF Renegade for about 3 years now, it's a larger pack for extended trips, they claim about 5000ci if I recall the specs. Excellent construction & I have it adjusted so that it feels like a glove. Based on my exp w this pack, I just bought me son a Minuteman. My only problem was leaving a handful of trailmix in a zip-loc bag tucked in one of the mesh water bottle holders, which a ground squirrel promptly chewed thru. But I guess that's not TNF's problem

RE: North Face packs
I have an Inversion that I believe is 5500ci fully extended. Fits like a glove, and can carry more than I can comfortably. Not a lot of flex when twisting, though, and the side pockets are a bit small for my tastes, but all the bells and whistles that make things convenient.
Rock-solid daisy chain, compressions straps, etc; internal compression that also gives you headroom, well designed lid/fanny pack.

I'll keep this one for many, many years.
