“My Sundowners are nice but they are slowy becaming pavement pounders. Still love my old style Danner Mtn lites. One heck of a good boot. Huge contact patch, grippest sole on the market, full leather uppers. I beginning to question why I need to wear mid- weight boots. I hardly feel the Danner's after a day of hiking and the provide way more support then those 'Downers ever do.

“I'm with Buddur. Those are the boots that I have and they have served me well. I've used them for everything from pounding pavement to hiking jeeptrails under load. They just keep going.”

“See if you can find an outfitter that carries Scarpa boots. I found them to be cut a little narrower than Vasque or Asolo. I've been using a pair of Deltas for the past three years and have loved 'em. They're tough, pretty light, provide good ankle support, and aren't too pricey.”

“I've been using Rockies for years but I think I'm gonna get me a pair of them Vasque Sundowners next time and try em out.”

“my wife just bought a pair of the montrail torra gtx yesterday. we spent 5 hours trying to fit her. we tried alot of boots. she has very large and narrow feet. she is a fit nightmare. she has been hiking in sundowners for several years with major problems. these montrails seem to be the best ever. of course she is yet to hike a step yet except around the house but so far so good. we really worked hard with the boot fitter so we will see.”

“Danners, each boot(the model i have mtn.lites) is one piece of leather. Only ONE seam in the whole boot. G-tex liner very comfy, a tad heavy but tough like nails.”

“Another "thumbs up" on these boots. Thanks Rosey. I saw that the Rangers were wearing a couple years back. Also saw a few folks on the trail and they all said great things.
