As Seen On TV

“I use my TV as my morning alarm. There's a Christian network called Daystar. It's channel 53 (UHF) in Atlanta. In the early morning, they play "music videos". Their not videos in the traditional sense, but rather, music played with an accompanying video - usually of backcountry scenes. I have seen scenery from some of the locales in which I've backpacked, ie, Bryce Canyon, Tetons, and The Black Hills.

One morning a couple weeks ago, I'm looking at a scene from Bryce, and looking at an 8x10 enlargement of the same location that hangs on my wall above the TV. That was pretty cool.

I didn't watch this morning, but yesterday, they showed scenes from Texas (Big Bend NP?), Colorado (RMNP?), Oregon coast (2!), Arkansas (countryside), Canadian Rockies (I would have guessed Alaska), and others. The location of the shoot is identified near the end of the song.

It's most enjoyable to sit sipping my coffee while "hiking vicariously". Check it out!”
