Moving to Oregon. “Just wanted to know if I could use my pur hiker there or if I should use a purifier. I just picked up a couple of hiker cart. at 75 percent off. A outdoor store was having a going out of buisness sale and I couldn't resist. Also who would I get in touch with to find out about this? I'm moving to Florence OR. It's right on the coast just west of Eugene. Thanks for your help.” 3:40:47 PM 2/23/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “The PUR Hiker will do the trick anywhere in the US. If you ever go to Mexico, I would suggest an upgrade.” 3:55:52 PM 2/23/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “Yes you can use it but you need a permit from the Dept of Ecology and a environmental impact statement first in the Peoples Republic of Oregon. Some of those microbes you kill might be endangered or threatened species. You can?t even pump your own gas there. (.)(.) | ) . No need for a purifier anywhere around here (I'm in the Portland area). What brings you to Florence? It's in a nice area of the Oregon Coast, you will (as I'm sure you know) just need to be ready for a pretty small community. I don't know what you're used to, but you'll have plenty of outdoor opportunities within a couple of hours of home. Welcome! Hope your move goes smoothly.” 5:11:34 PM 2/23/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “I am a pur hiker! cept I am mixed with yeller labs and woofs.” 5:31:46 PM 2/23/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “Florence is nice and the highway from Eugene to Florence is beautiful with plenty of places for some good hikes. I hope you like walks on the beach. DO NOT FORGET YOU UMBRELLA OR RAIN GEAR. Good luck.” 1:00:48 AM 2/24/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “When I was working in the woods I didn't use anything but I paid the price once and don't recommend anyone trying it. All the trees in the world and not a roll of tp in site, it was a misrable day. In fact I may have developed a rash in an unappropriate location that day.” 1:06:02 AM 2/24/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “Thanks for the info y'all. I lived in Florence till about '93'. I then moved to Rochester NY. to be near my family. My wifes family lives in Brookings near the Cal border. Her fathers been very sick lately so we decided to move back to be near them. They will be moving to the Coos Bay area so he can get treatments for his ills. Can't wait to get back.” 7:05:30 AM 2/24/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “Interesting. My father is moving to Oregon today. After 73 years a native Californian, he is moving to Klamath Falls to live near my sister. He is looking forward to it. The cold winters don't seem to concern him (yet).” 9:43:29 AM 2/24/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “Welcome baaack! So you already know about gore-tex; I was going to say the same thing as Lobo. (I'm in Eugene)Safe travels. When ya headed this direction? Are you stoked about 'Rhodie Days'?? :)” 6:04:48 PM 2/24/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “I always tried to be out of town on that weekend. Sometimes when I was around I would go down to Bay street and look at all the bikes. (Always wanted a Harley.) I'm leaving Rochester on the 4th of march. Stopping in Brookings for a few days. Hopefully starting work at the end of the month.” 7:53:37 PM 2/24/01 RE: Moving to Oregon. “Enjoy, not much has changed except realestate prices.” 1:55:00 PM 2/25/01
