Home Depot Challenge!

“New HD? Good luck finding what you need in "what I assume" to be a bigger and better store...'cause it'll be a while till the employees have a clue to where everything is.

I found that out when the new HD opened up near my home. Got lots of "I dunno!" when trying to find items.”

“Wow! The Home Depot near you has employees? They all have people eager to help you when they first open but after they've been there a while they all learn to hide really well. I've actually seen them turn and walk away swiftly when you make eye contact! The best way to get help is to climb one of those ladders or open a package. They'll come over to avoid a lawsuit or to keep you from shoplifting and then you got 'em.”

Their hired help is (generally) pathetic. They haven't a clue... they have nearly zero expertise. I have - on MANY occasions - corrected the "expert advice" of HD employees. I do not hesitate. The folks in the electrical depart frighten me the most. Idiots! They're gonna get somebody killed...

Once, I asked a fellow about a terrible, TERRIBLE demonstration wall. The guy - an employee - said that it was from a drywall hanging/finishing class from the night before. It looked as if one of my "special" students had done it. Pathetic.


At least pick the employee's brain... you should be able to tell the extent of his or her knowledge by a few simple questions, ie, "What's your trade?" "How long?", etc.

Here's another hint. DO NOT APPROACH THE EMPLOYEES! Instead, lInger in the depart from which you wanna purchase something, then, if you spy a shopper with a measuring tape on his/her belt, or muddy boots -ASK THEM!”
