Anyone on Earthlink ISP?

“Earthlink has purchased an area ISP and will be taking over March 5. I am looking at switching, so wondered how their service is? Are you satisfied?

Also, do they run big promotions when they are new somewhere? If so, I'll wait for THAT!!!”

“I use Earthlink at home. So far I'm satisified, quick connections, good customer service. I thought they were better before they were bought out by Sprint.

Also, if you sign up for 3 months @ $19.95, they'll give you a digital camera. It's an el cheapo, but heck it was free and 3 mionths isn't all that long,”

“I was very happy with my dial-up with Mindspring, and when Earthlink bought them they continued the good service. Never a problem in three years.

I finally left them because I'm a bandwidth pig and I needed cable. DSL hadn't made it to my area at that time.”

“My local ISP (teleport.com) was also bought out by Earthlink a few months back. So far no real difference in service.

“I was with Mindspring and they were bought out by Earthlink a little over a year ago, I think. I always had great tech support and customer service. I never had a problem connecting. Like ken, I chose to go with RoadRunner for the bandwidth, although I kept the minimum Earthlink account for a number of months to keep my old e-mail address active.

I think they may have a deal where if you say you were recommended by a friend with service they get a credit on their next month's service. It's either $10 or $20. It's a refferal thing.”

“ChinaChas, I worked at Teleport until it was bought by OneMain. In general I think service is much lower. Tech support isn't local anymore and there was a blurb in the paper yesterday about spotty email service. Glad to hear you are happy though.”

“We have Earthlink ISP and just got DSL today. My son has three computers networked together in our house and all have DSL. So far it seems to be working OK. Didn't have too much trouble with Earthlink.

Recommendation - don't use your name in your email address. If you do you will get a lot more spam than if you don't. Earthlink has a spaminator which helps a lot.

OK, is anyone having TROUBLE accessing their Earthlink e-mail accounts right now. I couldn't do a re-direct from work (and was cussing the Mac OS 9!!). But now, at home on the PC, it won't connect either to get e-mail.”
