Reminder for Sierra hikers
Today is the first day of permit reservation season for most trailheads (except Whitney). Get that permit request in the mail today!

RE: Reminder for Sierra hikers
Tehipite do you know if the following site is all I need to fill out for a permit. I'm planning a hike from Tolumne Meadows to Iceberg Meadows in June with my dad and cousin. I've never reserved a permit ahead of time, I have always just shown up early to get the permits that were available the day of the hike.

Check out the following:

RE: Reminder for Sierra hikers
I think that does it, ThinAir--and thanks for the tip! I didn't know about that site. (Unfortunately, I don't think there's a comparable site for SeKi.)

I've never done northern Yosemite, but I've heard it's beautiful. Are you going to follow the PCT mostly, or a different route? Have a great trip!

RE: Reminder for Sierra hikers
I sent out for six permits today.
It's so nice the permit office in Bishop is only 30 miles from my house.
My requests should arrive there tomorrow.
The rest of the Llama Rama group leaders also FAX'd in their requests this morning.
Now, we wait.

RE: Reminder for Sierra hikers
We plan to hike along the PCT most of the way, there are two places that I might take different routes near the Northern Yosemite boundary.

I was origionaly going solo but my dad and cousin couldn't resist the urge to join me. We're planning to leave Tolumne Meadows and hike all the way to a Church of the Breathern Church Camp, (Camp Peaceful Pines) where we go every summer. The camp is near the end of Clarks Fork Road which is about 10 miles north from Sonora Pass by way of St.Marys pass. I can't wait! We plan on taking it easy and enjoying ourselves. The day we arrive at the camp to see all our buddies and say we walked from Yosemite will be awesome. I plan on taking some pictures and keeping a journal which I will turn into a trip report sometime later.
