Mini Buck

This is the style of knife I usually take backpacking. Never needed more.

I have that same knife SS. It's a great little knife. My only complaint with it is that it doesn't keep an edge as well as my other Buck knives. I think the steel they used for it is a little softer that what was used in my other Buck knives. It's not that big of a deal; I just have to sharpen it more often.

I've always been partial to a small to mid-sized swiss army knife.I have a BIG one (6 layer)now because it was a gift, but like the smaller ones better. I'll take a 4" blade sheath knife on long canoe trips but it's razor sharp hardened blade usually gets me bleeding in the hands of my brother-in-law. I always bring gloves to paddle with if I'm going with him. My military baby brother scoffs at anything that isn't ats-34 or 154cm.

I know a bunch of people that will LOVE that french army knife. I actually like the rural french. It's the city french, I can't stand.

I like Swamp Rat Knives. They have a solid reputation...just do a google search and read some of the reviews.

This is the one I carry... SAR rat. It's not one of their normal offerings but if you're patient they'll offer it every now and then, just check their bboard.

I have the leatherman micra with the scissors. I attached it to my titanium spork with a key ring . It's a nice combo.
