Is 2400ci ok for overnter
I will probably be going on my first overnighter this spring. I need a new day pack and am looking at a Lowe Alpine 40 which is 2400 in^3. Would that allow me to limp through on an overnighter? PS, what is a good size for a one or two nighter?
Thanks

~<4000 ought to do for a weekend jaunt. My old pack was ~2300 cu in and I became a Master Strapper because of it...had most stuff strapped to the outside.

Get yerself some lash chord/strap and start a strappin!

2400ci, I guess it depends on how and what you pack. I now use a 2900ci for one week, three season use. Just gotta stick to the esentials, and pick your gear to maximize space. When I go longer than 6 days, or need some winter stuff and plan to be out longer than about 3 days, then I break out the 5500ci monster.

2400 is plenty!! With a pack that size you could have quite a night, even if your'e not a ultraliter, you can strap your sleeping bag and tent on the outside if they take up too much room inside.

If you haven't bought your pack yet, try bringing the essentials you plan on taking with you and seeing how they fit into your pack and how comfortable the load feels.

You'll also have your pack adjusted, and get some ideas as to how to pack your load.
