paid about $26.00 for a carton today....i have thought about quitting alot..my company gives you $1000 dollars to quit if you stop for a year...i should do it but im too sorry to try”

Everyone can tell you about quitting, but until it's really what YOU want to do, it's not going to work.

“I quit in Nov of '77 and have so far stayed quit. It took pneumonia combined with not drinking for 60 days. We are talking only about tobacco here aren't we?”

the smell

i prolly forgot a couple of things, but that's mainly it.

“57 days after 27 years, doing fine. 8 days off the patch doin' fine as well, I didn't even go to the 3rd level of patches (7 mg) I figgered it was a waste of money. I have to say that this was the 4th time I tried to quit with the patch.

All I can say is;

#1 rule in rescueing a drowning victim is, they have to want to be rescued”

“Ya I tried the patch once. I tried to pick a low stress time to start the program so I put on a patch the morning I left for a solo weekend in the Smokies.

By Sunday (two days in the woods) I was ready to roll up a poison ivy leaf and try it. When I got to my car I drove straight to the store and threw the patch I had put on that am in the trash outside the door along with the wrapper to the cigarette pack.

I'll try again probably this summer.”

“I was smoking while on the patch, you should have heard some of the justifications I used to convince myself. Want some advice?? get rid of light cigs a few months ahead of time , smoke the full strength before you hit the patch.”

“Longest no smoking period 12years 42days. This time 116 days. In between, 5 times over a year each . According to a quik summation I smoked 25 years and not smoked 20 years since the first puff.”
