Am I the only one here who envisions Alex P. Keaten from Family Ties every time I read Tea's posts?

I need to go the deathmarch way. My Cannondale R800 has been sitting in the garage way too much. Better to leave the Subaru in the garage.

Violin,

I consider my self a successful teen, and I plan to continue to have greater success. My eagle project taught me many great lessons, some of them in the constructional trade, other lessons on how to manage people and projects. The second of the previously mentioned is one of the most prominent qualities in me, or I believe it to be. I already have profiteering skills witch has been proven in my school throughout activities such as dances. In addition, I have a political understanding that most people do not gain until there fifties. I am also a varsity competitor in two sports, I have great grades, and I expect to have a high SAT score. I would not be shocked if I get accepted into a division one or IV college. All of this leads me to believe that I am doing something right in my life, and people who can afford a Lincoln / BMW/ Mercedes/ are general successful people. One of my other beliefs is that, it is very important in business to project your self as a successful person, that way people view you as successful, and will patronize you because they believe that you made this money some how there for you must do your job well or you would be poor. One way of accomplishing this is buy having a great resume (witch I have) and to have items that successful people have, such as cars, watches, rings, sunglasses and what not, I currently only posses a few of those spoken of, all of witch have been purchased with my hard earned money not family hand downs. It is my goal to have a 30k+ car buy the conclusion of my senior year; it may and probably will be a used car, yet it will still project the image that I wish. Out of all the cars that will project a successful image I have chosen the Lincoln LS to be my coach into true success. At one time I love the Passate, however with the introduction of the LS I am in love with this car, for it has luxury and style. If you have seen the LS you would not think it to be from the same family as the Town car or continental. It is a sporty looking sedan; I recommend that you check out pictures of it at the Lincoln web page, at that site you will see why I wish to own that vehicle. If you wish to dispute my theory, we can in 2021 when I plan to run for the White House, I will be 36 at that time, and the media will tell my legacy that I leave behind me, and at that point you will know if it work (or we could just go hiking together tomorrow). Violin, I have told few lies and all of them have been corrected on TT, however I truly am sixteen. Maybe you, a few other TTers, and my self should go hiking together to prove my true identity.

That IV League can really mess up your GPA. Employ Caution!

To see the highest return in your chosen field of Profiteering, I suggest space-based munitions. It's the Coming Thing!

And don't aim low! I would be looking into classic Ferraris or Dusenbergs. True, a quarter million is just the ante, but go for it! Turn off Nascar and get into Formula One.

Dunadan, maybe you haven't noticed but I am quite proud of my self and my accomplishments. I am not saying that people that have those vehicles are better people I am just saying that they make more money, thus if a company is hireling you to make them money, are they are not going to hire you because you are just a nice guy with no credentials or someone ells because they have already proven themselves. In addition as cock/proud as I may be I am still I kind and respectful person. Arrogant/jerk, I'm sure that there are people who drive those cars that are of the description you have given, but can you also say that some of them are just proud of what they have accomplish, and proud that they have succeeded better then every one ells.

Tea, don't think that I am calling you arrogant, because I am not. I don't get that from your posts on TT. I was just pointing out that driving up to a job interview in an expensive car might not give the impression you think it does. You might want to try buying a limo and hiring a driver. That would mean you are really shelling out the bucks.
I hope you come to know yourself well. You might find that material wealth and power are not the same as happiness.
I do need to know your name before I can vote for you in 2020, though.

Danadan, I never said that I was rich to buy a limo "I hope to buy a lincon LS when I am of age, however I'm about 30k to short" lets just say that it is a $33,855 car, and I have 3k to my name now so I'm short about 30K.

With age greed will either become more or less...

what life brings you will either increase or decrease greed ...

those of us who have had a true tragedy in life could really give a #&%!$ what we drive or what others think about what we drive.

I get out into the trails, & woods to get away from the "greed".

what really matters is to be at peace with yourself ... and your maker, the one who gave us the nature we all go to enjoy on our time off.

Oh Tea, I’ve gone and struck a raw nerve with you. I’m sorry. It was just a joke. I believe you’re really sixteen.

I’d like to take a hike with you sometime and share some of my life experience with you. I was once young and materialistic too. I reached hard for that brass ring and actually grabbed it. You know what? It’s just cold metal, nothing special. There are other riches in life that are more satisfying and far more permanent. Hopefully, you’ll learn over time. Best of luck on your journey - the ride can be bumpy at times, even with four-wheel independent suspension and gas-pressurized hydraulic shock absorbers.

Hang in there Tea, learn to spell and you'll do great. ;-)

You've saved and saved. The day finally comes and you buy your dream car. You polish and preen all over your precious car. You wash and vaccum it all the time. You treat it as though it was a living thing and pay more attention to it than that dirty, old homeless alkey down on the corner who asks if you can spare a dime.

Then some shmuck runs a red light and smacks ya. Then all you have a dented hunk of metal and hopefully not a dented head. Then, maybe, you realize: Life ain't all about the car you drive.

This is a reproduction and will cost you over $400. Apparently, a fully restored Krate Stingray (69-73?, with 5-speed derailleur, gearshift mounted on the top tube and front disc brake) could run as high as $2500+...

Ain't the Internet grand?

I have had GREAT service out of:

1) Volvo (Owned 4...the older the better)
2) Toyota anything. The wifes Sienna has been flawless.
3) Chevy Trucks. My Tahoe. Loaded and "like a rock" has needed brakes only at 140,000 miles. Gas guzzler though.
4) Jeep. Beats the crap out of me but the Jeep is still running strong at 197,000 miles. Worse than the Tahoe on fuel.
