Sids' caring thread
I just finished reading the "Yet another shooting" thread and was apalled at all the muckraking. Therefore, I decided to create a thread where we could all bare our feelings and learn to live in fellowship and peace. So...

Penny for your thoughts?!

RE: Sids' caring thread
My heart goes out to all those folks impacted by these senseless events. Parents, friends, school chums, neighbors.

I'm having a tough time actually getting the thoughts together. It seems like I'm grasping for smoke.

RE: Sids' caring thread
I actually feel bad for the boy who did the shooting. Of course I think he should be convicted, but what he did he did because no one cared enough for him to guide him out of this self distruction. He was picked on, and then it also seemed that his home life was pretty screwed up. Teenagers need to open their eyes to what they cause. This guy was an outcast and I doubt he would have done what he did if he was excepted by his peers.

Im sorry I have real feelings for all the people involved here but I think that society has taken the right of any athority away from parents schools and even judges when it comes to kids and this is what we get!

If those parents had spanked thier kids, this would have happened. I was spanked as a kid and look how I turned out.

RE: Sids' caring thread
Reading this thread reminds me of the Beavis and Butthead episode where the teacher was on the school bus singing the song "Lesbian Seagull" accompanied by his guitar...then the bus driver slams on the brakes and he goes flying out the windshield and down a cliff.

That was pretty cool. Huh, uh huh, huh.

Sadly, there are problems with youngsters in all types of societies. Peer pressure, reckless activities and pervasive violence permeate even SQUIRREL culture!

Correction: he was singing "Lesbian Seagull" when the ATF agents stormed the classroom.

He sang something about a mountain when he fell out of the buss.

RE: Sids' caring thread
I love rad's beer. I covet it (just like the SUV's). Petty weiners.

Anyway, I saw on the morning news some psychobabble chic saying that all these shootings are caused by little boys and girls who can't take the bullying. We need to teach those who are bullied how to respond in a manner that is self-preserving and hug and lesbian mother and utopia blah blah blah.

The fool kid shot and killed people. He knew better. Kill him back (that's the law, ya' know).

Once again, (i posted this in a rather long soapbox tirade on the yet another shooting. again. still. again. thread) we're reaping what we, as a society, have sewn for a couple of generations. We can keep bitching about it, but we might as well fasten our seatbelts 'cause it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Go hug "this" tree, you granola hippie-wannabe earth-luvin' freaks.

In love and humor,

umm, the point of this thread was that Sidibombay was "apalled at all the muckraking." Sidi wanted us to "learn to live in fellowship and peace."

your "petty weiners" comment was quite inappropriate in light of this.

RE: Sids' caring thread
I'm sorry for the kids that never had a chance (H.S. shooting). I feel sorrow for there parents not being able to see their child's progression from child to adult to parent etc. I feel bad for the parents who have to send their kids back to school all over the country, and the kids that have to face harm at school when they are trying to get an education.

I feel the same for the young man that died at the Mardi Gras festival. What a fine man he was for trying to save a girl from being beaten.

My heart goes out also for the girls that were beat at the Mardi Gras, and for the bad feelings they may feel about people, and the ability to feel safe throughout their lives. I feel the same about the boys that were senselessly attacked.

They keep showing the Mardi Gras scenes over & over, and now in slow motion in hope that others will recognize the criminals. When I see the news showing these scenes, I turn the channel. I can't look at it. It just makes me cry to see these helpless girls.
