Xcursion Lantern
Has anyone tried one of these lanterns? www.coleman.com/coleman/ColemanCom/prod_Detail.asp?Product_id=9970-725&CategoryID=24757&SourcePage=PROD_CATEGORY_MAIN.ASP&SubmittingPage=Prod_subcategory.asp
They look pretty good. Great weight savings over other lanterns (12 oz.)and a lot brighter than a candle lantern.
No stores in my area carry them but I'm thinking of one, especially for those winter trips when it gets dark around 4:30. I wonder how they work at sub-zero temps.

Sorry about the length of that URL but it does work if you cut & paste.

RE: Xcursion Lantern
Violin - I don't have this lantern but have tried several other canister models. This winter I picked up a CMG Bonfire and couldn't be more pleased. It is a L.E.D. Lantern that burns forever on 2 AA batteries. It weighs around 5 oz. and cost $24.

The only problems: The on/off switch is tough to use with gloves on and some folks feel it could be brighter although I find it plenty bright. - John
