Do you update the trails database?

“Hey guys -

Out of curiosity, do you all try and update the trails database on this site? The few postings from the search I ran were over 2 years old. So I thought I would do my part to add what few trails I hiked.

This is a friendly reminder for everyone to get off thier behinds and add at least one hike to the database for newbies like me.

Oh, yeah - well add an entry when it is working :). I just submitted an entery and got an error, so I just reported it. I'll try again tomorrow and post when I can enter a new trail.

“i don't use other parts of this site. i get all of my gear reviews from outdoorreview.com. i don't write trail reviews at all.”

“I've only done one Trail Review here. I feel like I should do my part and post more Trails but I'm too lazy sometimes.”

“I tried to contribute to the AT shelter database a few times but it never seems to work, some sort of problem with the software. I sent Matt an e-mail about the problem but never heard back from him.

SL, that is a good point though. I'll add it to my 'bored internet' list.”

“SaltLick, Matt the webmaster of this site doesn't put all submissions into the database. He looks for certain criteria. I don't remember what that is anymore. You could e-mail him and ask and then post it on tt.”

When I look at a trail review, I make sure that it has complete contact information. Since the database is suppose to be a starting point for trail research, there needs to be an address or contact person that can be contacted for more detailed information. Next to that, I look at the directions to the trail head and make sure they are clear enough for people to understand. Those are basically my criteria for accepting a trail review.”

The Submission engine is what is screwed up everyone - Its not even getting to the webmaster for review.”

Where is these woods?
The woods is the Abalama Walkin Woods in Abalama by Georgia a leetle bit.

How does peeple and dogs get ther?
In a truk.

Woods and rocks and brids and rats and toyoyas.

What do peeple and dogs do ther?
Walk in the woods and sleep in the woods.

What is the walkin like?
You get "out" of the truk and put on a pakpak. You walk in the woods but do not walk on the leafs walk on the dert. In a minit turn "gee" and walk for a minit and turn "haw" and walk some more then dreenk water. Then walk some more til you are sleepy and make a tent. Chek for rats for a minit and eat supper. Get in the tent and close yer eylips. When is is day time walk on the leafs and pee. Put back on yer pakpak and walk for a minit and turn "haw". Walk some more and get in the truk and go get beers and meet and fryfrys then be home.
