Since you're new here, I'll list the Ten Stupid Things Women on TrailTalk Should Not Do.

1. Marry O.J. Simpson.

2. Touch the remote control.

3. Work ouside of the home.

4. Become a degree whoring sanctimonious bitch for the purpose of increasing ratings.

5. Pre-marital Porking.

6. Being born as a female into a mixed religion marriage especially if one parent is Catholic and the other is Jewish. God, what kind of stupid woman would pick parents like that.

7. Date Bacpac.

8. Vote.

9. Get ICQ and chat with the male losers on this site.

10. Wear revealing outfits around the former President of the United States.

Answer to the question, "How long have you been backpacking"...

It's all new for me. My husband takes me camping and I have been on a few short day hikes. I have a fancy pants backpack and sleeping bag, fancy pants stove and cookwear (apron, mitts), and boots that I wear while vacuuming (breaking them in). We plan a trip to the Blue Ridge in April. I'll keep you posted.

RE: newby
Blue Ridge eh? That means you're in my neck of the woods. Would ya like to elaborate just a weeee bit on where ya are? I'm presently in Knoxville, but I grew up in the Canton/Asheville area. Also, just so ya know r.g., there's some Trail Talk (TT as we usually have it) trips coming up near you. Both are in April, one is the 3rd week at Wilson Creek in WNC, and the other is the following weekend in E TN at Fiery Gizzard. Both oughta be purdy, and you'd get to meet some of us knuckleheads.

Beer? Ahh, since you're already up .....

Hey I am kinda curious to know; are ya the kind of Enlish teacher with a southern drawl, or the kind without your native southern drawl .... hehe....?

RE: newby
This can be a rough group (as I haves sampled for my self many times). How ever, we are a good bunch. Well some of us. Just some hints so you don?t have to endure the same pain that I have.

1) NEVER say any thing if you don?t have sources to back you up, they will kill you for that.
2) Always use your best spelling and grammar.
3) If make fun of some one they WILL retaliate.
4) If you never in you TT life made fun of any one, you still may have harsh comments coming your way.
5) If you state a scientific fact that is hard to believe, don?t expect them too.

Now some day to day hints:

1) There are some people that check in here every 5 minutes because we have nothing better to do, we call them regulars.
2) There are some people that post something extremely radical, knowing that they will upset many people, we call them trolls.
3) There are some people that change their name every month, we call him tarpy.
4) There is another web site with all of are pictures on it , and the web master of that site we call Phill
5) This site crashes often so buckle your seat belt and where a helmet.
6) You can use most HTML in on TT (trail talk) and if you don?t know any we have a thread to solve that problem
Some of us use AOL IM (AIM RULES), Some of us use MSN IM, Some of us use Yahoo IM, and more of us use ICQ.

There you go I hope that this has set you on the right foot.

"Running" humm, I love to run, thats why I joined track.

Where going to need some more info on you if your going to be a regualer.

Like:

Whats are your hobbies other than BPin'?
Whats your AIM/ICQ/Yahoo/MSN name?

Welcome running girl. Don't bother critiquing Ice Tea's spelling. Just get used to it, lol.

My advice, run girl, run and don't look back. If you decide to stay, then think about a trail talk (tt) group hike. They are lots of fun.

RE: newby
Good Morning Everyone,

Wow--I just woke up and already have a ton to do just by answering all your questions. First, I would like to say that I saw snackboy's new photo of The Last Yumbillicious Dinner and am very disappointed that I wasn't invited! Also, part of the reason I got a TT name was so that I could meet Sarabelle and she hasn't been over to sniff me yet. Sarabelle? Other info...

I live in the Richmond VA area.
I've lived in West Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania--so, no, I don't have a southern drawl.
Ice Tea, my grammer and spelling are not perfect. When Baume66 mentioned it in his reply to me he was merely trying to brown nose so that he wouldn't have to sleep on the couch--HE IS MY HUSBAND! Sorry walkindude, I am not married to Arnold.
Thanks for the ground rules, Ice Tea. I don't have any unfounded scientific facts to post today.
Deathmarch and Ken--I feel dumb for asking...but WHAT?
Buddur--I saw the picture of Buddur. Very photogenic!
Phil--Maybe baume66 and I can send a photo of our April trip.
Mom--I heard about your upcoming trip. Good Luck!

I guess that you'll wanna paddle the Jason Male Lover one eh?? As stated previously (you'll hafta ask baumenager about THAT!), the Jason boat will likely have a little more stability on the river ............. uh, unless ya paddle him face down.

I did find amusement with your "cookwear" comment. For some reason, I pictured ya scrambling up a mountain trail wearing butt an apron and mitts. (kind of the French Maid git-up!) I wasn't gonna mention it, but you brought it up again!
Welcome aboard and I apoligize now for comments I will make in the future!
