My blankee! “I just got my Nunatak backcountry blanket! 26.5oz 15* blanket. Very comfortable! I want cold weather soooooo bad. Freaking Louisiana.” 2:28:54 PM 3/16/01 RE: My blankee! “Dang, I thought this woulda been one of Belle's threads.” 2:32:51 PM 3/16/01 RE: My blankee! “What is a Nunatak blanket?” 5:56:04 PM 3/16/01 Yahoo search yields... 6:03:14 PM 3/16/01 RE: My blankee! “I use a fleece blankee in the summer.......when I go.” 7:08:26 PM 3/16/01 RE: My blankee! “A Nunatak Backcountry Blanket is basically a Down comforter with about 2.5" (mine anyway) loft that has drawstrings on both ends and velcro along the side. You can sleep with it like a blanket or close it up to your personal desire up to the point of it being like a sleeping bag. My initial opinion is it will be fine for my sleeping style, but if you move around a lot at night, are wider than skinny, or are going somewhere pretty freaking cold, then you would do better with a bag. I think it will probably do me well down to about 20* because I am a cold sleeper. I want to test it tho.” 7:11:40 PM 3/16/01 RE: My blankee! “There are sleeping bags of the same weight and warmth, light summer bags, that open up flat when you unzip them if its warm. Except for the minor weight savings of the velcro over the zipper, isn't a lightweight sleeping bag the more practical choice?” 4:06:22 AM 3/17/01 RE: My blankee! “Possibly, but I'm always open to new ideas in gear., plus I almost never zipped up my old down bag or used the hood, so why have that stuff in the first place.” 8:06:58 AM 3/17/01 RE: My blankee! “I recon you've never been cold enough to need em” 11:36:37 PM 3/17/01 RE: My blankee! “I've been down into the 10's with my old 30 degree bag and didn't zip it up.” 9:31:35 AM 3/18/01
