“Well, I didn't get your message until about 1PM. So, I figured I'd just swing on by and see if I could spot you. Well, if you were there, you know how impossible that would be.

Anyway, what'd you think about the bald eagle out front?

We'll have to link up. BTW, do you guys know anything about the Tonquish Trail in Dearborn?”

“Reformed, we did a quick change of plans. We went hikin! out to pinckney, great time. Sorry about draggin you out there. Joy and I are planning on getting out to at least day hike 2 times a month and wanted to see if you'd like join us and/or show us some of your favorite SE michigan trails. Sorry again about our no-show.”

“So, did Abigail get to go hiking with you? Did she like it?”

“Omahiker, no Abby didnt join us. She doesnt have quite enough neck strength to support her head, which means she cant ride in her pack. Plus it was a bit chilly with the wind.

This was the first hike that Joy and I have been together on since our TT trip to Pictured Rocks last september. As I mentioned earlier we are going to attempt to make it out 2+ times a month, Abby will join us soon. Her first overnighter is hopefully going to be memorial wknd. Thanks for askin.”

“Joy, I haven't spoken with RL in a while but it's my understanding that he has headed to the woods. It's Spring Break where he teaches. I believe, he'll be home Easter weekend. So if you don't hear from him, that's why. :o)”

Northern Michigan is great this time of year. I dayhiked in the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness, Sleeping Bear Dunes NL, Fisherman's Island SP and Cheboygan SP.

Most interesting event: Getting growled at by something large - bear? maybe? - while at FI.

Best moment: walking barefoot in the sand and surf of Lake Michigan to Crisp Point lighthouse.

Only six more days of break left. Yes, I am a lucky guy.”
