eco-challenge borneoView Messageseco-challenge borneo “April 1-4 8pm est, USA cable network. Any fans out there?” 6:40:12 AM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Yeah, if I get a chance to watch it. I'd much rather be in the Eco-Challenge than Survivor.” 9:59:38 AM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I look forward to watching the eco challenge every year. I can't believe Survivor is created by the same person.” 10:50:07 AM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “ECT vs WCT Eco-Challenge Summer 2001 Black Hills, SD Who's with me?” 1:45:47 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “You wouldn't want me on your team, I'm too wimpy.” 2:02:36 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I would cheer you on and watch the keg at the post-challenge party tent!” 2:03:51 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Can Sarabelle be on my team?” 2:06:52 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “"Keg Watching" is one of the biggest events! LOL!” 2:08:52 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “OH MAN!!!! An ECO Challange in the Black Hills!!!! I'd love to. Can't this year though. Make it next year and I'll be on your team! I ain't gonna be in any keg event though.” 2:22:27 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Sarabelle is one of our (ECT) secret weapons. We have her in reserve for the Rat Race. Also, she'll be a member of the Spilled Beer Emergency Response Team.” 2:49:01 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I hope that her job at S'bert doesn't give her another overlook. I will be careful not to spill any beer around her.” 2:55:58 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Eco-chalenge is like the ultimate trek for me. I'm dieing to do one.” 9:40:51 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “We got Deathmarch99 on our team!!” 11:37:07 PM 3/18/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Interesting thought here. If you were gonna get a bunch of TTers together for an Eco Challenge, Who would you want on your team. 4 to a team and you gotta have at least one member on the opposite sex.” 12:32:28 AM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I'll take: Naked Ape AmyG & Deathmarch99 Who's on your team?” 12:35:03 AM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Oh NO! I am having flashbacks to high school gym class...someone will be scarred for life because they were the last one picked! I'll take: Baume66 Gojo & Sarabelle Sgt Rock” 5:31:21 AM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I will be on the good teem! It will prolly be me Skinny Kenny Ms. AmyG PatchyG The Wild Dog That Lives In The Woods And Eats Bares Buddur Dog My daddy Mr. Rad cuz he is a good beers spiller Mr Walkin Man cuz don't get drunk and can take care of ever buddy Ms OM cuz she has good treets for engerny Ms Space Blanket cuz she gives good belly scratches and prolly some nothers that I dont member rite now BUT NOT tart rat feces smeller cuz he makes my hed hert!” 5:05:51 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “That's no fair Sarabelle! You got all the good players. ..........nevermind, I see I'm on your team.” 8:54:45 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “"I pick Ken Griffey Jr." -Ralph Wiggum” 8:58:26 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “After so many of last years "Eco Warriors" getting that crazy rat feces virus, I am curious to see how big a turnout the challenge gets this year. Some of the people are still suffering effects from being exposed.” 10:00:18 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Where is the line between East and West? I'll take Mel and two llamas!” 11:02:33 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I was thinking about a TT Eco Challenge today at work. I bet it would be a pretty fun event. We could see which team could hike the Centennial Trail (111 miles) the fastest. I'm booked this year but 2002 would be good anytime after June.” 11:23:49 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “we would have to throw in some other disciplines other then hiking. We could do climbing, mountain biking, maybe some rafting. Just enough to make it challenging.” 11:42:20 PM 3/19/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “48 hours is doing a show on the eco challenge on Wed I think, 10pm est.” 10:38:33 AM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Sounds like Deathmarch is in the spirit of things here! WHO ELSE IS IN?!?!?!” 6:33:47 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “If we're serious count me in.” 6:45:30 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “If we use the usual Challenge thinking (such as at least one female to a team) are you going to require at least one old fart to a team of you young studs? Then I have a chance to contribute. Otherwise I'll help with the first aid and Keksi will join Sarabelle on the beer squad.” 6:52:53 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Throw in rowing, and I'm there! ... mebbe fishin', too. and hurdles - the higher the better! Hmmmmm.... There's gotta be more. Lesseeeee. Sgt Rock - can you get ahold of some explosives?! hehehee Maybe even do some "thinking" type events, too. That way, some of the weenies can have a piece of the action. LOL!” 6:55:01 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Capture the Flag, at night.” 6:59:51 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “How does teams of 5 with at least one member of both genders sound? Disciplines could include a trekking leg, river crossing, knot tying and canoeing. Maybe to add some humor a "cathole" digging competion and timed water filtration race.” 7:04:53 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “We could do some TT war games. That would be fun. We would do it over a large area that includes areas such as rock faces and rivers. Each team would set up a base camp and attempt to locate and eliminate the opposing team.” 7:25:01 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Actually what I thought would make it interesting is requiring one dog on every team. I pick Sarabelle! The Air Force Para-Rescue guys had a team in last year. They had a bad time of it. They basically said those people (the racers) go out to kill themselves in the competition, and if the survive it is a bonus. They (the PJs) were more in the mindset of sustained operations.” 7:30:04 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I have noticed that military teams ALWAYS do poorly in the eco-challenge and in the raid-de-galloiuse(sp?). Joy and I have discussed why this seems to be the case. I/we couldnt come with any clear answers, any ideas? For dogs i'd want my pointer or buddur(the dog).” 7:45:45 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Nekkid Paint Ball!!!” 8:16:02 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Check this out; Break up the teams into regions. Southeast Team, Northwest Team, Midwest Team, Southwest Team, & Northwest Team. What about something like that?” 8:29:04 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “east vs. west: max 10(+) bodies a team. Cut a line due north from the Ark. and Okie state line thru Minnie-sota. Those on the east side of that line would be easterns. Challenges orienteering(bushwackin), fire starting, shelter building, cooking, hiking at much of a challenge on groomed mark trails, LNT challenge(how well you cover your tracks) capture the flag. What ever the challenges are they have to be doable within a week or week and half. We could start out by having a gum ball rally to the destination that is equal distance from the majority of the players involved.” 8:52:40 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Don't you think a 111 mile hiking race is enough? Plus the nekkid paintball game.” 9:43:32 PM 3/20/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Who's going to judge this affair? Please don't suggest the Official Scorekeeper.” 1:09:04 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Maybe we can get Nigal back to do it, or see if Matt wants to.” 1:29:30 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I can juds the "stinky butts" contents. I think ther should be a rat catchin contents to. I like the catch the blanky game idear to!” 3:17:16 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Hey, not to get too far off topic here, but what's up with that "Best of Best" military showdown show on TBS? When I first saw the ad for it, I was slackjawed. Is it just me or does it seem like a big recruiting ploy? And how did Teddy boy get involved with that anyway. Someone else is getting rich off of taxpayer dollars. Can't wait to see how the Navy f*cks it up.” 3:39:10 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I like the idea of all hiking to a central meeting point. We could come down into the valley like Highland tribes with the drums sounding loudly. Then, let the games begin!” 8:24:51 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “As far as adding Climbing, Biking, Rafting. Lets just keep in mind that not everybody at this site is experienced at these other activities. Should we just keep it BPing to draw more people into the fun?” 8:59:27 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “but the idea is to make an adventure race. That stuff is fun and should be included.” 10:26:00 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I agree but how many of us also Rock climb, Bike & raft? And out of that bunch, How many people could make a trip like that?” 10:28:50 PM 3/21/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Did anyone watch 48 hours last night? What did you think of the guy that had plans to make a movie (or somethin' like that) and quit - disqualifying his whole team - which incuded a married couple that paid the team's $70,000 in fees?” 2:33:40 PM 3/22/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “null” 3:36:25 PM 3/22/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Oops! It was a stuntman. And he didn't quit. The team leader called it quits because the wife couldn't walk anymore.” 3:41:01 PM 3/22/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “I watched it again - I'd say our perception of what happended is different. The leader quit because the other guy had a deadline - they may have used her as an excuse, but she wasn't quitting no matter what. I'm not saying that was smart, but she wasn't quitting.” 5:54:06 PM 3/22/01 RE: eco-challenge borneo “Joy and I watched the 48 hrs deal today(we taped it). From what I saw the team who was gonna win it (in their words) lost because stunt boy had a gig. Yes the lady was hurtin, but all contestants hurt. I saw some really foolish mistakes. Yes its easy to say so here in my comfy chair sippin ice water...Why in the hell would you swim in the shoes that you must hike in? The few seconds it would take to change into a pair of tevas could potentially save you considereable pain. Put the shoes in a h2o proof bag and put them and dry socks on when you hit the trail. At least during the 70+ mile canoe portion you wouldnt have soaked sox and shoes tearing up your feet. They'd get some air in sandals. No blister equals speed.” 8:30:48 PM 3/22/01
