Jedidiah Smith Redwoods.
Any of you NoCal/Oregon TTers do any hiking in these parts? Heard it is quite the scenic place from a non-hiker friend.

I lived in California some years ago and yes, the redwoods including Jedidiah Smith are quite magnificent and make for good hiking.

Very scenic, the Smith River is beautiful. Also lots of other state and national parks in the area. Get the book; The Hikers hip pocket Guide to the Humboldt Coast.

Been there a couple of times, there are some beautiful spots. Get reservations way ahead of time, fills up fast, lots of family campers. Also, driving there always seems to take me longer than planned, it's quite a ways up the coast. If you're heading up from the south there are some great spots along the ocean on the way up...
