UNcomforts....

“It never fails. When I sleep with my cloths on in the sleeping bag, the clothing ALWAYS pinches my skin in the front of my underarms. Geez, I swear I got rashes from it this weekend.

Am I the only one this happens to?

Anyone have any other UNcomforts to share?”

Ok, here's one. Be sure to change those sweaty, skin tight bike shorts after riding and don't just run around in them. Especially don't just decide to drive you car a ways in them. It won't be pretty.............”

Binding with the interior fabric of the sleeping bag? Are your pits clean and dry?

The clothing most likely has a funny cut, if it only happens in that one top or similiar top try a different top. Avoid thick seams especially in the pit area. Alot of the unisex clothing I have noticed, lacks some of the room needed in the pit area. That men verses woman thing in the upper body regions, shoulders and arms. Arm/sleeve holes having a smaller diameter, shoulder width/length not as long as it could be.

If you are layering, you inner may be baggier/bigger than you outer that may be tight. A tighter outer layer maybe causing that armpit discomfort if you have a larger innner layer on. I don't know.”

“My cloths...maybe that's it. I was standing in front of the mirror checkin' ma'nekid bod out (as I always do) and could see where all this material is bunched under my arms when they're down. No wonder I get all itchy and scratchy...I got lots of material bunched up in my underarms.

I usually wear a Duofold mock-turtle zipdown V-neck top and my NF 200 fleece jacket when sleeping. I am more comfortable wearing my fleece, than just the liner between me and the bag.

I can feel the coolness of the bag when I just wear a liner (so I could never sleep naked)...and I just don't like it. With fleece, I can't feel the coolness of the bag, and fleece is pretty freakin comfortable against the skin anyways..so I wear it.

In cooler weather I usually wear a liner top and the fleece...like many other times. That has to be it. Next time I'll have to try unzipping the pit zips when sleeping.

“I gotta be warm in a bag before I can strip down naked. Sleeping bags can be mighty cold when you first get in em.”

“Pit zips? Maybe that's the problem, are they getting twisted around to the front?”

“I just got too much material in the pit areas.

I prefer to sleep with my arms over my head, anyways! Maybe that's the problem...I'm being restricted!”

“walkindude, It's not often that I can sleep naked in my camping bag, because it's usually too cold at night, even after I've had the clothes on in the bag for a while.”

“Sleep naked in a light flannel or fleece liner, or a silk liner, and you'll be really comfortable and you won't feel the coldness of the bag!

“Get a pair of polypro long johns or micro fleece. I never sleep in my clothes. I try not to wear my long johns except to sleep in. I can take down to about 30 degrees in just a pair of pants before I need to layer.”

I sleep nekid and do not use no cubbers but I still am skratchy and itchy.
