I need a new daypack

“Anyone seen daypacks on Sale on the Net? I want a quality pack at a bargain.

I was loading up my daypack this weekend and it occured to me that I want a new one. The one I have is a Trager and it has been great and is still servicable, but as I crammed more stuff in it I decided that I needed a slightly larger pack.”

“I just got a Lowe Alpine 40 from campmor. I've had it out a couple of times and like it. My only complaint is that the opening to the compartment for keys, wallett, map, etc is a little too small. Everything fits, it's just that it's hard to fit a map through the opening. Really a pretty minor complaint.”

“If it does not fit into what I call my "day pack" or deluxe fanny, I will use my regular, est.4500c.i., pack and just cinch down all the compression straps. I don't have to worry about cramming things in there either and I will have extra room to carry for others or trash out. Whatever happen to the universal pack!! The one pack that does everything you need it to do.”

“Bacpac: Go over to Outdooroutlet.com. Look under Outrageous Deals, then Closeouts. They've got the Jansport Super Sack on sale for $34.99 (list is $60.00). It's kind of a traditional design daypack with two side pockets, compression straps, axe loop, ski slots, lashing/crampon patch, etc. Not a bad deal if you're looking for something in the 2350 ci. range. I think I also saw some similar packs on sale at sonomaoutfitters.com. Good luck!”

“Personally, I have no need for a fancy pants daypack. Since I don?t bring along the kitchen sink on a little stroll (I guess there are those who do,) I use a small pack of the type that kids carry their books around in at school. I got it at the grocery store for five bucks when they were getting rid of their unsold back to school stuff.”
