No, actually the use policy (which I haven't read lately) doesn't seem to care as long as they have plenty of storage space and I don't use the university's resources for personal commercial reasons or to run a porno or "hate" site. Backpacking is politically neutral at this time. Also note that I have a link on the photo page to info about the university for recruiting and PR reasons. I am definitely using up a lot of strorage space with something over 500 images.

Maintaining the photo page has been a source of recreation for me...Christmas present enough. I enjoy it when I have time. I have been on four hikes with TT people so far and they were all a blast.

Matt has certainly been stellar about maintaining this site, in spite of provider problems. If anyone else deserves to be on some of our Christmas lists, I would say it is Mel. She really puts a lot into the Llama trips (trips that she normally can get $100/day for).”

In the 60's, "bitchin" was just as commonplace as as "cool", "super", or "swell". Don't forget that other 60s word that was used for a while: "boss",

I went to Flint, Michigan, to go to college in 1967. I used "bitchin" a couple of times and it got me in trouble. Turns out there were a lot of things from California that were not appreciated in the East (including my florescent green socks). I had two sets of clothes, one for CA and one for MI.

Mel - Yes, the 60s were out-of-control, although I mostly watched from the distance. I remember when one of my fraternity brothers came back from Woodstock and described what happened (4 days of pot, sex, and nudity). Also, lots of concerts that didn't cost much. Went to the Hollywood Bowl for $1.00 and saw War, Cream (I think), and about 4 other bands. Used to go to the Cheetah and dance to Union Gap, Chambers Brothers, etc. Went to a Doors concert in 1968 and sat in the 5th row.

Anyway, my friends and I mostly cared about concerts, cars, and skiing.”

One of my best (girl) friends at the end of high school went off to San Francisco State and became a Flower Child. At the 10 year reunion she was into "acupressure massage" and exotic dancing. I wonder what she is doing now?”
