Hydration pack conversion “I just bought a new hydration bladder , but I don't have a pocket for it in my pack , anyone know the best way to lash that puppy on?” 2:32:37 AM 3/31/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Depending on your pack style... I have an internal frame w/o a pocket for my platypus bag. After I pack all my crap up I leave room on the very top of the bag.I lay the platy on its side and let the hose run out over my right shoulder, then cinch up the drawstring and flip down the top pocket. I have used it this was for 2 years, no leaks or problems. Good luck.” 7:45:02 AM 3/31/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “hyper's right (did I just write that?). just stuff it between the top of your packbag and the top lid. quick and easy.” 10:38:11 AM 3/31/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “...another vote for between the pack-top and pack-lid!” 12:38:24 PM 3/31/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “I bought a new hydration system & researched that. The consensus seems to be wherever it fits, and flows well. I tried the "between the pack top & pack lid" method too! It works well, but I found some ppl on backpacking.net who put it in the side mesh pocket, so I'm trying that this weekend ... it fits in there well, and probably will work great for me, but a lot of ppl don't have a sizable mesh pocket. My wife has water bottle pockets on the sides of her pack, so she will try the other way.” 12:58:23 PM 3/31/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “I used to attach the pack my camelbak came in to my pack, but that was a pain. Now I put it in whatever pocket it fits - usually a side bottle pocket, but sometimes the back pocket. Get a clip for the hose or run it through something on one of the front straps.” 9:29:47 PM 4/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “I've got lashing (is that what it's called?) on top of my pack. I think that will be a good place to put it if I ever get one. gojo, you have the same pack as I do. Do you use a hydration pack?” 9:39:17 PM 4/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “I put my platy in my top lid pocket. It seems to work better if it's higher than the mesh bottle pocket on the side. It's also more protected in the top lid pocket than on the side of your pack. Let us know what you try and how it works, Xtremepacker.” 9:51:27 PM 4/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Thanks for all your help. My pack had a little key holder thing on the inside so I stuck my platty onto it but I noticed that it sat to low in my pack and and got it the way. So I tried stuffing all my gear into my pack and just set it on the top and it work like a charm. Thanks everyone for your help. Appreciated” 12:31:15 AM 4/02/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “This winter I put a Platypus 1 liter hoser filled with warm water in the top lid of my pack to keep it from freezing up. The tube pulled away from the elbow and soaked everything in the top lid including my camera. After that I taped the tube to the elbow with electric tape as a precaution. This is a weak point of the Platypus and I have mixed feelings now about trusting them with gear that's essential to keep dry. The tape has helped though.” 8:08:03 AM 4/02/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “RichB, if you want a permanent fix to hold the hose in place get some super glue.Never had that problem hopefully never will.” 5:05:08 PM 4/02/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Go for Camelbak, I've never had a leak and It's been through hell.” 8:33:24 PM 4/02/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “The reason I used tape and not glue is because I like to take off the hose for cleaning with a trach brush.” 9:33:41 PM 4/02/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Been thinking of geting an MSR hydration tube/mouthpiece to convert my dramadary bag into a hydration system...till I saw the price at the local outfitters. ALMOST $40 FOR JUST THE TUBE SYSTEM (W/O THE BAG). F DAT!” 1:00:34 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “I sometimes place it on top. Most times I leave a little room next to the framesheet of my internal pack and run it vertically down the pack. This keeps the weight close to my back and the gear holds it in place.” 1:05:32 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion 1:06:57 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion 1:07:21 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion 1:09:15 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Top of the pack now. Used to put it in the top part of my pack near my head, then tried it with a add on pocket on the side of my pack and balanced the weight. Neither work as well as putting it on top of the main compartment.” 1:21:28 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “I liked the set up that MSilver had with the filter attached to the bag.” 1:22:50 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “i got a small hydration backpack, made for biking. it will hold good dayhike stuff. filter, camera, knife. i just stash it in the pack, againgt the backframe. it protects the waterbag and puts the weight in the best spot.” 1:23:53 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Thanks Rad! And yes, Ms.m&m, that inline filter Mr.Silver had is pretty sweet.” 2:00:49 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “i plan on getting that tube, pretty soon, buddur. i like my MSR dromelite bag alot!” 2:17:39 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Next time I'm at my local outfitters, I'm gonna have to have 'em check if the price is mis-marked. If it ain't...I'm gonna have it out with them! Or my name ain't Raymond J. Johnson, Jr.” 2:42:16 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “it was the SAME EXACT ONE???? dude, what a RIP! i will get the 4 liter dromelite, too, when my platys die. if they die. i still have my original! it's all white and wrinkly, now, but no leaks, yet!” 2:44:27 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “What kind was that Buddur??? I need it for a stocking stuffer” 2:54:03 PM 10/11/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “If your bladder has a carry strap or handle, try sliding it down inside your pack against the pack frame. Stitch a webbing or cord loop at the top near the lid and 'biner the bladder to the loop. My pack has a seperate pocket with a plastic clip at the top for this purpose.” 5:30:23 AM 10/13/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Got a 2L MSR Dramalite Hydration Bag tonight to replace the Platypus bags that have leaked on me in the past. Too bad they all come in pink. Anywho, earlier (and in this post) I mentioned that the hose and bite-valve conversion kit was $40 at the local outfitters... Well I mentioned to them to double check the price, and sure enough it should've actually been ~$12. I wonder how many of them they've sold already?” 8:37:21 PM 11/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “ahem. yer welcome.” 8:42:02 PM 11/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Hey Buddur, I bought a 4 liter Dromedary bag this week. I have a 2 liter Hydromedary and like it a lot. Way better than Platypus.” 8:47:07 PM 11/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Yer da "raddest" Gast there is! ;)” 8:52:21 PM 11/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “rad-a-blaster to the res-cue!” 8:54:06 PM 11/01/01 RE: Hydration pack conversion “Bite my valve!” 8:56:28 PM 11/01/01 Hydration RACK conversion 8:40:47 AM 2/09/08 “well that's one way to keep your bladder from freezing up. you are jacked up SC LOL!” 9:05:11 AM 2/09/08 “Its out of stock....a shame I was gonna order one.” 9:10:15 AM 2/09/08 “finally a way to combine backpacking and cross dressing!” 9:16:28 AM 2/09/08 “Press reviews "Bubbly in your jubblies!" Boing Boing "Howzabout getting off your face and doubling your chest size simultaneously?" Londonist.com "...for classy ladies." Pocket Lint "...a perfect way of dodging the queues at festivals and busy pubs..." Sky News "...imagine the guy's face when he clocks any lady wearing one of these - and realises she's got alcohol on her too." The Sun "...looks, feels and wobbles like the real thing." Metro LOL! Hey, how come they don't come in Large?” 9:18:52 AM 2/09/08 “I was wondering the same thing. Can you immagine what it would look like if you put a carbonated beverage in them and then found yourself running to catch a bus or something? Look out! They're gonna blow! AAAAAAh! Would be good for theaters and such though. Concerts, sporting events... Now if they'd come up with a male version. Perhaps the John holmes-jock strap reservior? suck on this. LOL! I see prospects!” 9:30:29 AM 2/09/08 “what about high-altitude?” 9:31:24 AM 2/09/08 “Ah yes. Use caution as the change in pressure could cause your boobies to burst. I wonder what the TSA has to say about this?” 9:33:49 AM 2/09/08 9:36:17 AM 2/09/08 “Ah yes. Use caution as the change in pressure could cause your boobies to burst. I wonder what the TSA has to say about this?” meangreen Can I have a drink?” 9:37:35 AM 2/09/08 “LOL!” 10:04:06 AM 2/09/08 “Now, if they had booty enhancing beerplants, I'd be all set.” 10:21:04 AM 2/09/08 “I'm wondering. Have the metal clasps for a bra ever set off an alarm at airport security?” 11:17:50 AM 2/09/08 “Can't say I've ever seen it happen, but it probably has. They would move something like that to a private room though slimmer. I know I have tried undoing a few that I thought would require the employment of a plasma cutter! LOL!” 11:39:08 AM 2/09/08 “Back to more important issues... can I get one of these in an ultra light model?” 3:42:37 PM 2/09/08
