MSN Explorer Frustrations “Having recently changed my ISP (internet service provider) from a local company to "MSN", I've found there are differences which I hadn't fully appreciated, particularly between the Internet Explorer browser I WAS using (and which I can still access the web via my MSN dial-up) and the browser that comes with MSN. And the differences are not only frustrating in some circumstances, they're downright noticeable. I've decided that I really like the IE's flexibility, as it's far more useful, has far more "features", and generally, has many more smooth, navigable options than MSN. In fact, it almost seems as if MSN is really behind the times on this browser thing... It's limited, almost elementary approach doesn't make me feel as if I've scored an improvement, especially with email. For instance, if I use MSN to dial up, I can minimize it, and then call up IE5. From there, I can access things as I was used to. Bigger screen image, wider (I should say adjustable), and by having it up, I have all of IE's features at my fingertips. On the other hand, I'm really beginning to feel like I'd like to retrieve my email either via IE5 (Outlook Express) or Eudora, which is another email program I have. MSN's email appears also to be in that elementary flexibility stage. Unfortunately, I don't know how to change the settings (actually, I know HOW, I just don't know "what" to type in). In fairness, MSN DOES have several things I DO like, and if possible, I'd like to consider keeping it (I've never tried AOL) and attempt to have the best of both worlds, as it were. Is anyone knowledegeable enough to assist me on this one? I'd sure appreciate it... MJ” 11:44:17 AM 3/31/01
