drought year
Mowed my lawn today.

what's so unusual about that??

This is the earliest I have ever mowed my lawn. Normal snow depth for April 1 in my town is 17"

RE: drought year
I'm not sure I'll ever see my lawn again. Four feet of snow on the ground (two feet since the first day of "Spring") and more expected tonmorrow. Enough already!

Lucky!

I've been chomping at the bit to get to some yardwork, but nature gave us a nice little April Fool's joke - a couple of inches covering everything.

But you are right. The lack of snow near Superior means the Great Lakes are approaching levels not seen since the Dust Bowl. But it creates lots more shoreline - great for hiking.

It just keeps snowing here, hasn't been this way in a long time. We're looking at the worst river floods in 10 years. Usually I'm biking by now, but I brought my bike home Friday in a storm where we got about 8 inches of snow. Great winter though!

RE: drought year
I mowed my lawn for the first time in the middle of March, right before a ski trip to Sunday River, ME. We got 30+" a couple of days before we left. The last day of skiing, power was out all over the place and the lifts were all shut down. 30" of powder and no lifts! We hiked to the top in snow up to mid-thigh and made one phenomenal run down Spruce Cliffs and Last Tango. It was the best and last run of the season.

RE: drought year
I got out and raked the driveway out of the yard that I put there blowing snow this winter. I got all the other crap out of the beds, I bought one of those leaf blowers last year....cool deal. I planted some bulbs and a new rose bush. the only thing left to do it get some mulch down, oh and I even ferilized the yard. Now let it rain let it rain let it rain....
