“All true, violin. However, in the last several weeks I've seen Washington cloudless at least 5 or 6 times. My wife and I lucked out when we hiked Madison and Adams for the sky was absolutely cloudless that day. One of my best days hiking ever.”

75 mph winds 104 days a year! Here in Florida if we think we are getting 75 mph winds. we board up our houses, get extra food, batteries, water. Some people even evacuate.

“The first time I climbed Washington the weather was what it is now. I almost walked off a cliff because I couldn't find the observatory. It is still a fun mountain to climb. I'm taking my sister and some boy scouts up Washington in the spring. As long as you are prepared for inclement, you will do fine. However, I can't count the amount of times I've encountered hikers hiking up Washington without even a bottle of water. People think because there is a restaurant on top they don't need to carry anything. I'm a big fan in letting Darwin have his day.”
