Jefferson this week?” 4:53:02 AM 10/10/01 RE: New Hampshire's White mountains in September “I "heard" that some idiots with a cell phone, went out with out much more than a sweater for a walk in the mountains. Pause while UK simmers. If I had broken my leg and needed a real rescue, I would pay to have my gurney wheeled to their house and tell them all about how I had to wait for rescue because of their stupidity. I just hope they send them a real good bill, with stupidity itemized.” 6:46:31 AM 10/10/01 RE: New Hampshire's White mountains in September “I was on the Franconia Ridge on Sunday. The storm was no surprise. The summit forecast was temps 15-25, winds 45-65, with sleet and snow, and that's exactly what we got. (Sleet blowing against your face in a 65mph gust doesn't feel too good, but it was a lot of fun being up there in those conditions...I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.) There were a surprising number of people up there and almost all of them looked well-prepared. The trail on the way down Lafayette was very slippery...I did see two young women in sneakers on their way up. That must've been an interesting hike for them.” 8:43:23 AM 10/10/01 RE: New Hampshire's White mountains in September “Hey fritz, I was wondering how your trip went. Glad to hear from you.” 8:47:10 AM 10/10/01 Jump to Page << prev
